I was also following this thread and hoping for good news for you. I'm so sorry to read you lost Sebastian. He is with a lot of other wonderful babies at the Bridge. You're in my thoughts.

:( I am so sad that you lost Sabastian, but am glad to hear that you made the desicion to spare him any pain. A brave and loving decision! I have been following this thread and of course hoping for the best for your baby. I wholeheartedly agree with BoxerLoverNC - when you are ready you might look into adopting, there are so many babies out there in need of a good home. You are not replacing him, just continuing your love for him by giving it to another :) Good Luck!

I feel so bad for you and your family, I have been following this post and updating my husband every day.......I feel almost like this is our loss too.
Even though no boxer could fill Sebastians shoes,
I don't recommend waiting a long time to get another Boxer. They are great dogs, always have been my favorite breed, and I am sure that the love and care spent on Sebastian could make another dogs life very happy and your's too.
It is people like you, that care and do everything you can, that make the best pet owners, and any animal would be lucky to have you as theirs.......... I have been and will continue to pray for you.

Thank You all, well we won't be looking for another boxer until we buy our own home, which I'm hoping will be in the next year. We found out about a year after we rented this place sabastian wasn't even supposed to be in the house to begin with. We've been here for three years now. They seen what a good dog he was and never said anything to us about it, but we don't want to push the issue of bringing in another dog. We'll wait till we own our home and we will deal with the nasty's potty breaking does to carpets and not have to worry about what the landlord will say. But when it's time to look we'll look for a rescue. I'm thinking maybe about being a rescue foster home also. I'd really like that, cause I don't know of any Boxer Rescues down here in southern oregon. I want to do it in memory of Sabastian Knucklehead Riley ! :) Thank You all!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I saw your original post when I was trying to find answers to why my boxer collapsed. It happened on January 3rd and I just lost her yesterday. I too am in Portland Oregon so that brought your story even closer to my heart. This grief is unbearable.

carriec, I'm sorry to hear your loss, it is very hard to deal with but I know we'll all get through this. I was reading in Romans 8:22 about all of Gods creatures who suffer in pain as we do are also waiting for that day and hour when our lord returns. So that showed me that Yes animals do go to heaven. You hear people say animals don't have a soul, well their wrong, they do but don't have the holy spirit as we do. I don't mean to get religious here but wanted to show all of you that we will see our babies again. This gives my family great comfort and joy! Take Care!

When I informed my husband that Sebastian did not make it, he was as heartbroken as I was......... We became very attached to your dog even though we had never met him and my husband sends his condolences and prayers your way.

Thank You anbuh, and your hubby too. Were all getting along ok now. Still hard to come home and not have that greeting of wiggles and Kidney Beaning at ya. I was looking at your gallery and your boxer reminded me of bastian with the "look" in the car. I'm sure eventually bastian will lead the right boxer to our hearts when it's time. I'm just glad all his brothers and sisters are getting checked this friday from the same vet we went to. Hopefully some day with the right Breedings going on, we'll have the boxer to be the best breed health wise also. We have recent pictures of bastian at walmart being developed, should get them back today so I'll post them as soon as I can. Thanks Again and bastian was loved by everyone. He even trained a lady and her grandkids that were scared silly of dogs to like him. He was very smart! :)
