Co-workers scoff at name, HELP

Ok, we are brining home Eli next week and have been wrestling with a name for his registration. I decided to let the kids (10 and 15) help with the process since I was the one soley responsible for Isabella's name, Isabella's Fancy Dancer. (because of the wigglebutt)

So the kids picked (together, like a team effort, WOW) Sir Elijah's Promise. So at work today I shared the name with my coworkers and they all gave me looks like I was seriously on crack. I got everything from "you are naming him what" to "you can't do that to that poor pup". OK, am I missing something here?? Honestly everyone, what are your thoughts or reactions on hearing his reg. name??

I like it!! But this is coming from some one who named her's "Sheila's long Awaited Jazzy" But I really like "Sir Elijah"s Promise" sounds very regal to me!

Well, personally I don't think you should worry to much about what they think. It's not like you'll be calling your dog that long name, it'll be Eli for short right? Who cares if they don't agree with it, this is your dog right?

My dogs are registered as "xx Noble Prince Riley" and "xx Space Cadet Mason J". The xx is the breeer's name which I've omitted to keep within the rules. In real life they're simply called Riley and Mason.

Waldo's kennel name is Voxisha Lurks and Perks,so don't go thinking Sir Elijah's Promise is strange because it's not,I think it sounds just lovely.
BTW,Waldo had been registered as that long before we got him,so there was nothing we could do about it

I don't think I've ever heard a registered name that didn't sound kind of silly Nestle's name is Gracious Nestle of Arboria...yeah...wow. Her mom's name was Gracie..so Gracious and we live on Arbor Lane so Arboria to make it sound "fancy". Don't sweat it. It's not like your going to be running around the house saying "Sir Elijah's Promise, come! Good Sir Elijah's Promise. Sir Elijah's Promise, sit! Good Sir Elijah's Promise"

MOLLY'S birth name is "Molly Holly the Christmas Dolly", we just couldn't stop with just plain ol' Molly. Anyway, she's still known as Molly. People give us strange looks when we call her by her birth registration name.

I mean its not like you named your dog like one I read about in a magazine, LOL. It was a Chinese Crested and this male is one of the top 5 in akc dog shows and his name is "(kennel name) I Shaved my Legs for this"

So I see nothing wrong with the name you picked out!

Riley's name is Jazzy Raz Miss Riely Brew. See they all sound kinda different. When I was looking for a name for Riley I wanted Easy. But, caved when everyone said I couldn't name a female that. But, I like Riley's name now. Congratulations with Eli.
