I appfreciate the responses as it says be some cash.... I can just use for other puppy things, which I am sure I will need I didn't realize there was such a huge difference between AKC and CKC..... I really just got her becuase I love the breed. I wouldn't want to try and make any money off of her or anything like that, as I know how seriously it should be taken.

I don't plan on showing brooke either. She is just for our family to love. I don't think I could show her anyway. Her brindle stripes don't go all the way to her tummy on one side, which I read is unfavorable. (she is getting fixed at about 6 mo.) Again, I would love to hear the answers to her questions.

I assume you mean she has a white "haw" or the third eyelid. White haws, while not preferred, are not enough to cause a dog to be a "reject." A dog can have white haws, like Miss Holly, but when the eye lids are "tight" and not droopy, it's not a problem, as where it doesn't interfere with the expression and make the dog look wall-eyed. And, in fact, many "flashy" Boxers will have white haws instead of dark brown ones.

Yup I meant haw... there is a pic of it in my gallery.
What I meant by "reject" was that the people ahead of me on the wait list wanted a show quality puppy but since she had a fault they didn't want her and I was next in line. They actually returned her after 2 weeks because of this :eek: but I'm glad they did

I don't plan on registering Samson for anything but he is APR registered already. He is going to be fixed and his underbite would exclude him from showing anyways.

Yes, APR is another puppymill registry. However - Boxers are supposed to have underbites, so that wouldn't actually exclude him from showing. Or is it a severe one where his tongue or teeth show when his mouth is closed?

Too late for me.....

I really wish I would have known what to look for.... I searched around and waited for my puppy for about 8 months to even longer... I researched the breed and have been around a boxer for years... I never knew about all the extensive necessary health testing, I thought I was doing everything right, I was so prepared and knew how to take care of her, but just doesn't seem that I bought her from the right place. I really wish I would have known........ I hope and pray that I just got lucky and have a healthy dog, I hope she stays that way.... I am trying to feed her vet recommended foods and stuff to help her grow properly to try and prevent any joint problems and what not...... But here in South Texas, doesn't seem to be many proper 'breeders'.... or I just couldn't find them. We researched on the net for soooo long and came up with very few leads....... I too was hooked on they're website......

I guess I know for next time.... I would like to get a Flashy fawn sometime in the future.... I appreciate every ones input.....

If anyone has anymore tips or things I can try to do to keep her healthy, Please post.......

...a puppy mill i was going to get my boston from (before i knew it was a puppy mill) who only registers with the NAPDR. But it is a puppy mill, its known to my vets and its listed at our humane society as being a known puppy mill...

Slightly off topic... the "Puppy Mill" you speak of is where we ALMOST bought a boxer. Fortunately, the way circumstances unfolded with other areas of our life we didn't. Since then I have learned an awful lot about puppy mills and this one in particular ( I've visted "paws-r-us kennels" two times ).

An effort is underway to close this Puppy Mill down, however, it is located in the province of Quebec. The belle province has very different ideas about responsible pet breeding and ownership!

Yeah i was broken hearted i was so excited I was finally getting my Boston then my mom took my GSD into the vet and mentioned to our vet I was gettin one and she asked where from and t\my parents told her and she almost jumped out of her skin. She says shes put many puppies to sleep from there because they were so ill. I refused to believe it because of all the referemces, so i called the humane society and sure enough. Apparently theyve been shut down many times, but its family run so they just keep switching the ownership. Knowing that it was a puppy mill just made me want one more to save it from there.

Did you physically go to the kennel? Apparently they keep it in very good shape but theyre animals are still frequently sick.
