Christmas Played Her Out

LOL, I just gotta say Christmas was an absolute great time with Kirra - this was her first Christmas and she had sooo much fun. We headed off to my parents from the 24 -26. Kirra was pretty decent around the tree, didn't bother it too much. She got lots of toys and played non-stop with my minpin and my parents poodle (or should I say bugged them both ). She burned both inside and out and had everyone laughing with her kidney beaning and boxer antics. We arrived home today around noon and she has been sleeping ever since. I bet she is thinking thank gosh Christmas only comes once a year - this sure plays a puppy out Any more pooched out puppys here? Hope everyone had a great holiday.

Sounds like you babies had a great Christmas! My babies are chomping at the bit for a ride anywhere, we have been iced in for 3 days,they finally got to go to the grocery store today & it made new pups of them! LOL, Hanley

Glad you had a wonderful Christmas... gotta say it is better with the furkids around!

Oh man... we tired Willis out over Christmas, I thought it would be the other way around. Kris is really into texas hold'em and bought a set of poker chips, so the last few family gatherings, we have been playing until the wee hours of the morning. As we were playing on Christmas day after dinner, we got a huge blizzard and decided just to stay at my parents and play cards all night... I was up until about 3, but Kris and my Dad were up until 7 AM :eek: In the meantime, Willis was running between me, my mom and then the boys all night figuring who he needed to be with. When I woke up in the morning, I found him sleeping on top of my dad on the couch, with my mom on the other end of the sectional... (I have NO idea why they were on the couch, perfectly good bed upstairs!) But he was a tired puppy! He'd never pulled an all-nighter before.... My dad said the paper boy must have thought it was quite a sight to see people playing poker at 6:00 AM and have a dog with a cone on his head come charging to greet him.

I thought we had Tug wore out from all the festivities. Boy am I wrong! She is burning up everything!
I have some gifts for our great nephews that were still wrapped. Guess what they are unwrapped now. She has done 3 of 6 in about 2 seconds flat.
The one good thing is she likes to sleep in. So she and hubby snuggle while I do quick cleanups.
I had to have the neighbors babysit the other day so I could get the kitchen floor washed.
She keeps looking at the door and I can tell she is wondering who will come to visit her next!
We love her and she came to us at a perfect time.

So proud of Luka!

Luka is still tired! He had the BEST time! One of the major events for our family is Christmas breakfast and I've hosted it for the last 4 years. Luka didn't know what hit him! All the sudden our apt was crowded with family around 9:30a and of course, everyone wanted to meet Luka! He was so good- didn't beg for food, didn't chew any Xmas paper or tissue (he did get 1 napkin, but hey- I can live with ONE!). I gave him his stocking and he stuck his nose in and dragged all his presents out. He played with them while everyone opened their gifts, didn't pester anyone, sometimes he'd whach a present being opened. He did need a short time out when everyone arrived, he was jumping around and made my grandma spill her coffee :D

Luka got so many presents. I got him two new bowls, his first greenie, some of the Nylabones he likes and some stuffed animals (Giraffe and Allegator). My mom got me a frame that comes with cement, where you can press their paw, making a little paw print :D Can't wait to do that! He got a few teething toys, a stuffed buffalo and a new leash for puppy kindegarden. Anyway, Luka didn't even know what to play with yesterday... mostly, we took a nap, but I counted 16 toys out last night! :D

Oh! We also got calander of sleeping puppies- so cute. I've been making a point of showing Luka everything, letting him explore. So I held the calender so he could see it and he attacked it! He was jumping around, hitting it with his paw and growling! I have no idea why he attacked it, but I couldn't stop laughing. It was so funny. He's the best Christmas gift I could ever have. We're at work right now (he doesn't get to come w/ me often, but mostly everyone is off today) and he's all sprawled out w/a pile of toys (I think I'll put some away). He's in his "Grover" stage right now. Extra long legs and shaggy fur (just like Grover!)

Well, I can see Kirra is not alone I gotta tell you all that yesterday after I posted this message, Kirra was still flaked out on the couch and I was here on BW. I heard this thump, when I turned around there was Kirra lying on the floor looking very confused , she didn't even move!! She just looked at me with this blank look on her face, I couldn't help but laugh at her - silly little angel. So I went over and picked her up and put her back on the couch where she promptly fell back asleep. Talk about one bagged puppy. Although today really isn't much better - she's slept most of the day away too.
