Boxer Buddy
It happen all of a sudden, one minute he was his usual self, then the next he was gone that quick. It seemed like a dream, a very bad dream.
It started out when I walked into my house as I came home from work, chopper was laying on my living room floor, my mother-in-law was standing over him. It appeared chopper lost control of his bails as he was heading into the kitchen to get a drink of water. When he lost control he then got as far as the living room and collapsed. He was gasping for air his tongue and gums were white.
Right-away I picked up the phone and dialed the vet, I told them that I was bringing him over and explained his condition. I picked him up and he was just about dead in my arms, he couldn't hold his head or any part of his body. I put him in the car, as me my daughter and son kept an eye on him.
But, by the time I got to the Vet chopper had passed away in the car. The doctor did an exam and found he bleed internally from a growth that had ruptured and caused the internal bleeding. I stood their in disbelief and could not believe it as I just gazed at him lying their on the table dead. Just hours ago he was his old self doing his usual things eating drinking, snacks and the next he was gone.
He was the best friend I had, the one I will never forget.
Chopper's grieving Dad.
(He was only 8 years old, he would have be 9 January 2009)
