2 nights ago I noticed Tyson had what appeared to be a scab on the top of his head. I just assumed he bumped his head on something while running around the house and didn't really think much of it. About an hour ago I went home to see Tyson on my lunch break, and noticed the area where the scab was had turned pink and moist (no more scab) and had gotten about 3 times larger. I looked around his kennel and the garden to see if there was anything he could have scraped his head against, but found nothing.

I'm not generally paranoid like this, but my ex-girlfriend really put the fear in me when we first got Tyson regarding Sandfly bites (Canine Leishmaniasis). Apparently it is a major issue for dogs in this region of the world.

I gave the vet a call, and he is going to be coming by tomorrow to take a look at Tyson give him is annual check-up & vacination shot.

Does anyone have any experience with Canine Leishmaniasis? I've done some research online to try and learn more, but it seems the more I read up on the topic, the more paranoid I seem to get.

Last week there was a day when he didn't want to eat, but the following day he was back to eating normally. Other then that he hasn't been acting out of the ordinary.

Hopefully I'm getting all worried for nothing, but I would be devastated if anything were to happen to Tyson.
