We went to supermarket yesterday to get the booze to take to a party we were going to last night, came back and Casper was limping intermittently and holding his leg out to the side (back right leg). He let me check him over but was still not happy with it. We gave it an hour then got him into the vets.

He wouldn't let her look at it so she had to get the nurse to hold him, he was ok when she checked his other leg though.
She said he's probably pulled something (tendon or ligament) so gave him Rimadyl, he's not to go out for a walk because he's so damn bouncy and she wants to see him again on Saturday.
He's also not allowed out in the garden with Lola & Zeb as he bounds about with them. She said to put him on the lead in the garden but I said that will make him get excited and jump about so we're trailing him and making sure he doesn't start getting all bouncy. She's just worried because he's like a gazelle and bounces all over the place and that the rimadyl will mask the pain and make him feel he's ok.

Minty (my daughter) & mum had had strict instructions to take care of him and pamper him all night (obviously not leaving Lola & Zeb out)

Please send healing vibes for my boy as he's going to be stir crazy for a while.

I could cry right now.
Just took him out for a gentle walk as he's going crazy and trying to run about in the garden so I thought a change of scenery would do him good.
I had him on a really short lead but he still managed to jump about, spinning and acting like a spring lamb, then another dog comes along and he gets all excited I basically had to sit on him.
Got home and now he's holding his leg out even more and is not happy with it He holds it out where his knee would be if he had one to the side.

Has anyone any ideas as to what might have happened in the first place or experienced this before.
I'm so worried and frustrated that he will not slow/calm down and cause more injury.

Completely Boxer Crazy
I used to come home every once in awhile to Harley limping. A couple days of restriction usually did the trick. Was anyone able to examine his foot really well? Maybe he has a damaged pad or or something going on in between his toes, or with one of his toes, that is difficult to spot. My friend's boxer tore a pad once, we were not able to see it right away. I took FOREVER to heal. Just a thought. If you don't discover any foot problems, I would say back to the vet if not better in a couple of days.

I'm so sorry to hear about Casper! :( Sending lots of healing vibes and hope that it is maybe just a slight strain that will heal with curtailed activities.

Awww...poor Casper :(

Sounds kinda similar to my experience with Bosco. Over a year ago, Bosco came inside from going potty as I was wiping his paws he let out a huge yelp. He wouldn't even put pressure on his leg, we didn't even see him limp at all that day. We took him to the emergency vet and the doctor was 100% sure he had borken his leg, but wanted to do some x-rays. We were shocked when she said that there were no broken bones, he just pulled something.

A few days later he started to put some weight on his leg and all seems fine now. So I am praying that casper is going to be OK and that he just pulled something. Sending (((((positive vibes))))) for sweet Casper.
