That is the last thing you would expect at the vet, for your baby to be handed over to you with urine on his body. Shame on them. I am glad you called and if someone gets in trouble for not doing their job, so be it.

Hope Casper is feeling better.

Poor Casper - hope he's feeling better today. I'd have been furious if I got one of our's back from the vet covered in pee - not good enough. Lots of healing vibes for Casper :)

The vets rang today and said the head nurse has spoken to the nurse involved (she's a newbie apparently).
The nurse said Casper did a pee when they knocked him out and they cleaned him up. They also took him out later but he didn't go (told them he wouldn't) Anyway she said that when she went to get him out to bring him to me she didn't check him over as they normally do because he grumbled at her.
All nurses have now been told that dogs that are less than friendly always have a note on their crate door saying so and as Casper didn't he was hardly likely to have her arm off and if they are wary or not comfortable checking a dog over they should ask another member of staff for help.

They have offered to bath him for me but I declined. I explained that it just wasn't nice that he was soaking wet and had obviously laid in it for quite a while and i wanted them to be aware.

They are very apologetic and she thanked me for bringing it to their attention.

Tracey, just read the thread, hope Casper is feeling better after a horrendous ordeal, he looked so sorry for himself in the first photo, but I see he's been looked after in the second one.
Good for you to speak out, glad they apologised even though it shouldn't of happen in the first place. You expect that they are safe and well cared for at the vets, that's why they went into the profession in the first place wasn't it, to care for animals? sometimes it makes you wonder!
Big hugs and well wiggles for Casper from Hollyxxx
