Well after 2 1/2 hrs at the vet and him consulting his co-workers and calling a vet school. We think we may have figured out what the problem is. Histoocytic Ulcerative Colitis of boxers. My vet is currently @ 7:00 p.m. reading up on it and we will be discussing treatment tomm. Thank You all for keeping casper in you thoughts.. If any one has experiance with this please tell me what to expect. Thank You.

Your vet seems very good and on the ball. Hope it gets sorted soon and at least you have a diagnosis now which helps loads.

Just wondering how Casper and you are doing today? I don't know anything about that condition so I am interested to hear what your vet says. Good luck with everything and keep us posted.

I'm glad you've got a diagnosis, and it's not so acute as it might have been :)

As for colitis - yes, there have been plenty of cases of that on the forums. This is something that boxers are quite prone to. Not sure how you feel about feeding - but there are quite a few cases on the forums where the only solution found was ditching commercial foods (particularly grain-based kibble) and going to a natural diet instead. If you're open to that sort of thing, then I'd strongly suggest posting in the barf forum - not only would other past/present owners of colitis sufferers share their experiences, but you'd get a lot of information on that type of diet.
