Yesterday morning, my husband and I still lounging in bed, my seven year old daughter goes outside to feed her cat. We hear her yell, "No Stay Away!" Then she screams bloody murder. My husband jumps up outta bed, wearing nothing but his boxers (LOL! If you knew him... he wears a shirt to swim, OK?) and runs outside to see the goose biting my daughter. My daughter is screaming, the goose will NOT let go, Capone who has never hurt the goose before has ahold of the goose by the butt and is boxing it trying to get it off my daughter. The goose has ahold of her back of all places, has already bit her arm, and is flogging her and Capone. My husband starts kicking the goose and it let go of my daughter who is still screaming, and tried to attack him and Capone. Finally it takes off down to the pond. So my daughter is bloody from being bitten and flogged. My Boxer baby is bloody from being flogged and kicked by the goose's claws, and he comes in with my daughter. My husband comes in, grabs a pair of jeans, his cell phone, and a gun. Calls up our neighbors, the sweet elderly people, who own the stupid goose, and asks them if they are gonna eat it or what cause he is gettin ready to shoot it. Then he tells them what happened and they give the OK to go ahead and shoot it. Needless to say, we had goose for dinner last night. Everyone is ok. And now we don't have to worry about the stupid goose attacking anyone else!!

I am picturing this whole scenario in my head! Thank goodness everyone is alright. Except for the goose of course...By the way, I love the name Capone! My husband used to have a boxer named Capone. We thought about naming our new boxer Capone Junior but settled on Oscar instead!

Way to go Capone protecting your sister!

My daughter was chased by a goose when she was little and still has a fear of them...she's 15 now! I hope your daughter is ok. Poor thing!

Did you enjoy your "Christmas" goose? I hope Capone got a tiny bite too!

Goose can be so nasty. I hope Capone got a little goose for his heroism. :)

Oh my goodness. How scary. I know how terrifying it is to hear your child screaming. I bet that scared you to death. I am so glad capone was out there to help your baby from getting hurt worse. I hope she is okay and feeling better and capone. I am so sorry yall had to go threw that. I am glad that the neighbors didn't give you any trouble about killing the goose. Give both of your babies extra kisses and I hope the rest of yalls Holiday goes better...

Wow what a sight that must have been. I'm sure it could have been worse. I would call the Pediatrician or family MD because your daughter may need antibiotics just to be on the safe side. Not sure what kind of germies geese may carry. Glad everyone is generally ok, but I'm sure a little shook up.

Way to go Capone! Reminds me of when my youngest (now 21) was attacked by a goose. Unless you've seen it, it's hard to believe how vicious they can be and how much damage they can do to a child, and pet for that matter:)

OMG! I never laughed so hard! I'm sorry that it must have been terribly scarey for your daughter and you both, but I am sure when she is old telling that story it will get a good chuckle! I'm also glad the neighbors weren't a pain about your solution! What a delicious ending!

Everyone always talks about getting a big ol mean guard dog, I say get a goose, those are the meanest things I've ever seen! Our neighbor had one on his property for a long time while he was building his house and my dog was scared to death of that thing! And it never failed to chase my dog every time we walked by!
