GDOGS1

Boxer Insane
Well I got a knock on my door very early this morning and it was my neighbour down the street who owns Spooks the boxer. He said spooks went to bed last night and was fine and when he got up to let him out he said he wouldn't get up so he picked him up to stand him up and he fell right over.and aint got up yet.He has a appointment with the vet but was just curious of what some of the possibilities might be.Thanx for reading and your thoughts and prayers for this wonderful Boxer.

Maybe a slipped disc or blood clot in the spinal column (forgot the official name).

I hope Spooks recovers quickly.

Well talked with my neighbour yesterday and he said his vet said it could have been a muscle disorder or it could be something to do with his blood.but wont know for sure until today when the labs come back.but on the good side Spooks is up and walking but very slowly. So when he stops by today I will be sure and post what he has to say.and again thanx for all the well wishes and prayers.

Completely Boxer Crazy
My last dog Toby one time did the exact same thing. Went to bed fine, the next morning could not get up. We carried him outside on a blanket and helped him stand so he could pee. A few hours later, by the time I could get him in to the vet, he was walking again. The vet said it is a thing (there is a name for it but it's been like 15 years and I forget) where this happens occasionally. That it might happen again or it might not. He never had another episode and he lived to be 16. I think he was only 3 or maybe 4 when it happened.

Super Boxer
I've always wondered where GDOGS was from. Anyway, we are in Lincoln. But not for long, moving to Indiana for a new job in about a month. Have enjoyed our 12 years in Lincoln and will miss it.

Boxer Booster
My border collie had a similar issue about 6 months ago. She woke up and couldn't stand. I would help her up and she would just fall over. I got her into the vet that morning and he did a thorough exam on her and couldn't find much of anything wrong. He ended up giving her a shot of metacam to see if it was inflammation related (if it didn't work, he was then going to refer me to a neurologist) and she was doing better shortly after. She hasn't had any issues since.

I hope that Spooks is ok!
