I'm doing a transport tomorrow to pick up a 1-3 year old female from a shelter in Delaware to take her to U of PA for treatment. She's not only emaciated and had several old injuries, she was also thrown off a bridge and now has a dislocated femur, broken toes and abrasions all over her face.

I don't understand how anyone can be that cruel. It's bad enough to neglect a dog, but why would anyone even consider launching her off a bridge?

I'm encouraged by the fact that she's at least sitting up in her picture, but I'm still very upset by her condition. I'll let you know how she looks in person tomorrow.

That poor beautiful baby. Thank you for being an angel to so many fur babies who need someone to love them.

That is just unbelievable! How could someone do that? I can't even grasp that, it makes me sick to my stomach. :(

Cammy is at Penn

We just got back. What a sweet girl she is! Her rear left leg is dislocated at the hip joint and her front right has an issue at the ankle joint that's causing the foot to turn outward. The vet that saw her at the shelter believes these are old injuries, not caused by her fall. She also has what looks like chemical burns on her head/face that are much more recent. The shelter said her face was covered in blood when she arrived. The good news appears to be that she landed in the water, not on a hard surface. The fire rescue team had to haul her 20 feet up using a sling. U of P is evaluating her right now to see what can be done for the skeletal injuries.
She seems to be a happy girl and made friends with us right away. She sat on the other volunteer's lap for just about the whole ride and didn't mind being lifted in and out of the car. She'll be a pretty girl once her face heals.

That poor sweet girl. It makes me sick thinking about what people do to their animals. Thank goodness she's in safe hands now.

Surgery to correct her hip will be done on Monday. She also has some permanent damage to one conrea. A decision on what to do about the front leg will be made later.

She's beautiful and it's amazing that even in the excrutiating amount of pain she must be in, and the cruelty that she must have faced, that's she still such a sweet girl. The amount of trust that dogs have for people is phenomenal and, especially because of situations like this, not always warrented.

It's people like you that truly make a difference in this world, and you are very underappricited. Thank you in behalf of all those you have, and will, help.

What a sweet looking girl she is. It goes to show that dogs are so forgiving. She was treated so horribly by a human and yet she still is sweet and loving to us. I hope who ever did to this sweet girl some how gets what they deserve for being so cruel. I really do believe that what goes around comes around. Good things will come to you for helping this girl. You are an angel.

What will happen to her when she is healed and done at the U of P?
