Well, if you can't get him to eat them any other way, and want to feed veges, then you could try that. I don't think it's an equal substitute though, because the veges are cooked. Are there any grains in there as well?
Lots of dogs don't like veges much. Some will eat vege mush straight, and be happy about it. Most need it mixed with offal or other meat or fish. For those that won't eat raw veges, lightly cooking/steaming them sometimes works. For others it can be OK if you 'sneak' just a little bit of mush into every meal, or every other meal (so over the course of a week, they've actually consumed a vege meal

). Give all those techniques a try, but if nothing will work, the canned stuff could be worth a try. Do check for any grain content though.
