Natures recipe makes a canned vegetarian dog food and I was wondering if anyone thought it would make a good substitute for veggie mush. I highly doubt that my dog will eat vegetables, it's hard enough to get him to eat anything else.

Well, if you can't get him to eat them any other way, and want to feed veges, then you could try that. I don't think it's an equal substitute though, because the veges are cooked. Are there any grains in there as well?

Lots of dogs don't like veges much. Some will eat vege mush straight, and be happy about it. Most need it mixed with offal or other meat or fish. For those that won't eat raw veges, lightly cooking/steaming them sometimes works. For others it can be OK if you 'sneak' just a little bit of mush into every meal, or every other meal (so over the course of a week, they've actually consumed a vege meal ;) ). Give all those techniques a try, but if nothing will work, the canned stuff could be worth a try. Do check for any grain content though.

It would be probably be best to try and get them to eat veggies mush by mixing it with meat of some sort. Markus will quite happily eat veggie mush, but Tara ia very fussy. I have found that a can of sardines will usually do the trick.

My boy is new to the raw life, and he just scarfed down a bowl of Bravo veggie mix, party because I gave it to him with a can of tuna! You can add other stuff to make veggies more appealing...eggs, cottage cheese, meat.
