Hello! I want to say that I am in a similar situation here except we are dealing with heart problems. I put up a post last week just as you did. Our world fell apart when we found out that our 3 year old boxer "Rocky" has cardiomyopathy and congestive heart failure and has weeks - months to live. Me, my husband and my 10 year old daughter stayed home from work and school after finding this out, just as you all did. Since PA does not have any registered cardiologists we are taking Rocky to Ohio State on Monday morning. I so feel your pain right now. Its amazing how your whole world can fall apart when it comes to your dog.
It looks like your Max is coming along just fine. Max is in my prayers along with you and your family. All we have is "hope" at this point.
Until next time....

I just caught this thread about your baby Max, I am sooo sorry he is sick. I know how fustrating it can be not knowing what exactly is going on esp when they are so sick.

Max will be in my thoughts and prayers, give him a big ((hug)) from me. Keep us updated.

I'm so sorry that your family is going through this. Several years ago my baby Abby was diagnosed with lymphoma. She was only 6 1/2 as well. We were told to give her flax seed oil (fresh pressed) as well as Vitamin E with selenium. When she didn't feel like eating, we gave her Vitamin B12 shots -- which increased her appetite and helped to keep her weight up.

It is so terrible when your baby is sick. I hope Max feels better soon.

Something going on... waiting for vet to call me back

Its been 5 days since Max had his infusion, but tonight did something strange. His teeth were "chattering", his heart seemed to be going fast, he seemed like he was in a daze, he was standing by the wall and had his head tilted a bit with his ears back and he felt a bit chilly... Im not sure if this could be a result of the medicine he received ... I held him and kept rubbing his back and he seemed to "snap" out of it. I am waiting to hear back from the vet, but thought maybe someone would have an incling of what could be happening.

Could it have possibly been a seizure? Was he responsive to you while this was happening? Maybe his calcium level is high again and triggered something for him to do that?????

I am keeping your boy in my prayers, please let us know what the vet says.
