Hi,
I am Cats from the Netherlands and would like to discuss the following casus:
My 9 year old Boxer is suffering from a serious form of rheumatoïd arthritis in the back. She is of course in a lot of pain. My vet precribed Metacam Oral Suspension (Meloxicam 1.5 mg/ml).
NSAID's like Metacam are known to potentially cause gastro-intestinal side effects in dogs (like in humans).
For human use there is a NSAID called Arthrotec (diclofenacnatrium + misoprostol 200 mg) availible specially designed to decrease the risk of these GI-side effects!
My question is wether anybody has any experience with this drug in the use of dogs?
Thx for your reactions in beforehand,
regards
