We take Sumi camping often and are looking forward to Casper's first camping adventure this summer! Before we go, we make sure she has been tick and flea dropped (we use frontline, it doesn't wash off). After one trip when she cut her paw on a can lid in a river, we also now get a list of vets in the area with emergency hours from our vet before we leave. We bring extra tennis balls for fetching. I also bring a bag of treats because I find that sometimes Sumi doesn't want to eat in the morning because she gets too excited about the day in the woods, so I can make sure she has something in her stomach before we go.
We also review come, sit, down, stay and heel beginning a few weeks before a trip so that we know that she remembers all of the "rules" she must follow.
