I want to thank Deb, for posting for me when I couldn't. I have been having a really hard time talking about this.
Caesar seems to be doing well, he has had 2 chemo treatments and his leg swelling has gone down greatly. A lot of his little bumps (Cysts) that you could see in the pictures are almost all gone. Unfortunately he had a few more pop up after the pics were taken and the larger of them are taking a little longer to shrink. Actually they are not the cancer, and that was why the aspirate didn't show cancer cells. The cysts are a product of fluid leaking into the tissue a forming keratin cysts. The leg swelling was also from this. The cancer cells were deep in his tissue and I am not sure I really understand where. His lymph nodes are not enlarged so it hasn't spread there. The one problem he is having is the incision where the biopsy was done is healing very slowly. His stitches had ripped through his skin from tissue death and left a gapping sore that couldn't be stitched as the stitching would just continue to rip. After a couple weeks of using Novasan cleanser and spray liquid bandage, the sore spot is finally starting to heal and shrinking. Now we are dealing with one of the cysts that surfaced, it has ulcer and is draining a clear fluid. Another cyst had done that but dried up sooner. Well at least the fluid is clear and it isn't infected. They put him on antibiotics to make sure it doesn't.
I have an appointment with a holistic vet on Thursday, I hope she is good. She knows he is on chemo and is willing to work with it. I have all the lab reports and weekly blood work so she will have some idea where we are on this. She used to be a traditional vet also.
I want to thank all of you for your kind words. I need all the support I can get. Any advice is very welcome.
I should explain also why I am no functioning very well. I don't want to go off subject but explain why I hadn't gotten back here sooner. As some of you may remember my Mom had gone through a lot of health issues, well at the same time Caesar was being diagnosed, Mom had to go for her yearly tests. She now has a lump in he breast, emphysema and needs a pacemaker. I am having a really hard time balancing both her and Caesar's doctor visits. I should add, Mom is very upset over Caesar, his diagnoses came on her 77th birthday and he is her favorite.
Thanks for letting me get all this out.
I'll update you on Thursday, if I can.
