Bumps/Hives all over!!! On back and chest...????

Buddy (our 1 year old) has been suffering from these bumps for about 6 months now...But they are progressively getting worse. We took him to the vet, and she gave him prednisone, ABT, topical spray and Creams, etc. We also give him Benadrl daily...But nothing seems to help. We were feeding him Purina One Lamb and Rice, But today we changed to Canidae today, perhaps its a food allergy? We are just lost. The bumps actually look like multiple pimples or hives? almost like fire ant bites. We keep Buddy in the house all week. Im almost in tears thinking about it. My poor baby...We have tried everything. We have elimated using carpet fresh, or anything with perfumes, etc...we have changed his soap, his bedding, everything. Im lost. The vet said that he will prob grow out of this...and suggested we just give benadryl daily...etc.

He doesnt seem to be effected by these bumps, he doesnt scratch them or bite at them. Our younger boxer doesnt have them...They are even starting to burst open and bleed...We clean them often, and treat them correctly...But how do we eliminate them?! My hands are tied. My poor baby...Hes just getting worse!! PLEASSSSSEEEE HELP ME!!!!!!!

At first, I would say an allergic reaction to something. That said, since Buddy has had it so long I would lean more toward an allergy of some sort. If you do a BW search on allergies/atopy, you will find a wealth of infomation, Ronin also has allergies and these posts helped me greatly and answered the many questions I had. I hope you can find what is triggering these hives and can find Buddy some relief I know how frustrating it can be!

Had major allergic reactions all the time. I would suggest switching his diet to a raw diet. It is more expensive, but I hear MIRACLE stories of people who have their dogs on it. Nothing to lose and everything to gain. If you decide to try it, let me know how it turns out

The fillers (corn, wheat, soy, etc) used in commercial dog foods can cause allergies, skin and coat problems. I happen to feed my dogs raw, but if you are not ready and or willing to make the switch, you can try buying a grain free hypoallergenic premium dog food. BTW, I happen to get meat from a wholesaler at 29 cents a pound, so feeding my three now is much less than when I was buying kibble. Good luck and I hope your furbaby feels better soon - Cathy

Natural Balance Duck & Potato is wonderful too!! My guy's feet have cleared up, he no longer chews them or his butt. His breath is better, his ears smell better, he no longer has teary eyes and his coat is soft and silky. They also have a Venison and Brown Rice version too.

We are going thru the same thing with our baby. Exact same thing. He has been allergy tested and is on allergy shots which now he does not bite his feet THANK GOD. My poor baby had to wear shoes so he wouldnt bite himself. He is off medrol but still gets these bumps. He is seeing a dermatologist. Please Pm me if you can.

I don't know if this is the answer, but....Our dog Koa just had something like that that progressed.. We spent about 900 dollars trying to figure it out and they never did. Just said "maybe" allergies. Anyway what worked for him is lipiderm for coat and skin. You put it in his food. I also use flax seed oil in his food. ANd ..... I changed his food to Science diet Sensitive skin. Just wanted to share incase this would work for you. Whatever you do, give it time for his body's system to switch. Thanks for the advice. I think we are going to try lipiderm. I know you can get it at petsmart and other good places to get it at Sandi???
