Boxer Buddy
I warn you, this will be a bit graphic description.
We took Zeus (11mo) to the vet 2 weeks ago tomorrow b/c he has had small bumps on his leg (pimple size), some doggy acne on his chin and he consistently gets these bumps on his eye and occassionally on his cheeks. The bumps are between small pimple size and sometimes grow as large as the head of an eraser. They start out being whitish and spreading the hair enough w/the swelling that they are noticable. After this, they tend to grow and become red (bright pink) and filled with puss. They have no noticable head to them but when squeezed they ooze from a single hole a mixture of puss, a watery substance and blood. They tend to grow right along his brow or on the eyelid where his little eyelashes are. If the bumps are drained they tend to go away, but if left untended they fester a lot. Sooo, back to the vet. Zeus was given a prescription for the acne and the bumps on his leg vet said were staph (apparently not uncommon here or in boxers). The bumps that I am so concerned about he could give us no explanation for and said we can either pop them or just leave them be. Zeus had his full week of antibiotics and all of the problems left for 6 days. Now, tonight, he once again has a little white bump on his brow. I am not sure if they bother him but they have to b/c of their placement. We are thinking of taking him to his other vet to get a second opinion but does anyone does anyone have any insight or suggestions about this????? They are not always in the exact same spot but they are always in the same general area w/the exception of 3 of these he has had on his cheeks (which were much more mild). Please help!!! Thank you in advance!
