What treats do you guys feed/recommend other than bully sticks?? That isn't crappy quality and will last a while? I get the 12 inch bullies and once they are halfway chewed nova tries to wolf down the other half, twice I've had to pull it out of her throat. Id like her to have a treat that lasts, especially while she's recovering after she gets spayed? Obviously she is supervised but the bully sticks just make me too nervous now because its happened in a split second. Frozen Peanut butter in a kong quickly disappears.

Thanks!

also...

I was thinking of those antler treats but have never tried them, not for duke either. She is 6 months so im not sure if that would be too hard on her teeth?

I've been giving Toby antlers since he was about 4 months old and he is nine months now. He loves them. At first he wasn't too interested in them but now he will lay in the floor and gnaw on those things forever. My husband hunts so our garage if full of enless antlers so we don't have to purchase them. Good luck :)

I had the same issues with Raine swallowing the bully sticks.....12 inches, whole!
Not a good thing at all.
She still gets them on occasion but I have to shove them into 2 Kongs to solve the issue. I still have to watch her like a hawk since she sometimes works on pulling them out.
She also has a very large antler but isn't really interested in them.
RMB's work well for her.

Has anyone tried the natural giant cow ears? Just curious if those last at least a day or what?

No Useful Advise

I've actually been wondering the same thing. We tried some pig skin treats, but it's the same. She will eat half and try to swollow the other half and they are pretty big. Is there anything out there that they wont eat whole???

Bella loves Cow and Pig Ears

Bella has cow and pig ears and she loves them she doesn't completely eat them all and we throw them away when they get small.

Daisy and Duke love bully sticks, but I do not give it to them all the time since I found it gives them diarrhea. They love they Antler bones though. They will chew in that thing for hours.

My preferred treat for both Cora and Kahner are bully sticks. I try to get the 28+" ones because I get a good laugh out of them and they last a bit longer. They are nice and thick too. Yours is much younger so maybe try those. But ya similar issue, once they get focused on chewing sticks disappear quick and they are like 20-25$ each. I don't leave them out and try to ration them a bit. If its edible it'll all go. Ever try one of those toys that you put regular (not chew) treats in and the dog has to figure out how to get them out? I haven't but I see them all the time. If you get a great smelling treat (ie. chicken or duck fillet) could work?

I too was having trouble trying to find something for Dutch to chew that would last and keep his interest past the first chew. I bought him one of the large natural cow ears and it was a big hit.....he loves them....they are big and light so he toss's them around to play with them before he settles in to chew away.
They have been a great treat for him so far. :)
