Well I guess I have a bulldog and pit bull now. I was at petsmart and this lady saw my two boxers (one with cropped ears the other has floppy ears) and said to her kids - keep away from that bulldog and pitbull.

I thought it was hilarious

I normally don't take both of my dogs at the same time to Petsmart with me cos to tell you the truth the two of them together are a little much when I'm trying to shop. Last time was my boxer Roxy's turn to come. I was heading down the ferret isle for some fert goodies and a lady literally picked up her 6ish year old daughter and said to her honey see that doggie, that's a pit bull...stay away from those doggies. Makes me wonder what her reaction would have been had it been Brutus' turn (my pit bull)

people are too funny!!!! When will they learn that there are tons of different breeds not all dogs with big lips are pitbulls. They probably dont even know what a real on looks like.
Roxydog- What a cute pittie you have....

Aww thanks. Bru is such a doll...to tell you the truth he's less of a trouble kid than Roxy is  He's my cuddle boy :p

I don't really understand people confusing boxers and pit bulls because of "their squishy noses". Boxers are brachycephalic, pit bulls are not. Most pits have longer snouts that are thick at the base and taper down in width toward the nose, though they do have droopy jowels sometimes. But their snouts are more akin (in length) to labrador retrievers than boxers. I guess people are too busy fleeing in terror to notice those details...of course these are the same people that think BTs are "mini-boxers".

It kill sme when I hear "Another Pittbull attacks child" This is exactly why dogs have a bad rap. When I tell people I have a boxer they say aren't those the ones that are mean. I tell them to come over and see how mean he is when he licks your face off!

I guess Layla could look scarey dragging me toward you with her tounge hanging out and trying to lick you from 5 feet away...
Dogs arent mean they are made that way. Laylas best friend is a pitbull that is the same color as her about 4 inches shorter with floppy ears she is wider than he is taller and her chest is wider. But his head is bigger. But when they smile they both have a pitbull smile. as I call it.. They are great dogs but b/c of the powerful jaws people fight them and ruin it for the whole breed.

the other day some lady was walking in front of my house talking on her cell phone. The person she was speaking with must have asked her where she was because I heard the lady say " I'm over here by that big bulldog house" I just started laughing out loud, first of all because Tank isnt even six months old yet, second of all because my house apparently is now known as the big bull dog house. I cant wait till Tank is full grown and ripped then I wonder what they will call my house foolicon

On Sunday, a few young girls walked by our house while we were in front. They saw Xena and said to each other, "Aww man, look at the pit...awesome! Oh and she just had a litter too..look at her nipples"!!! Then to me..."Nice pit lady...did you get rid of all the pups?" So I said.."Thanks and yup, they're all gone."  Xena has never had a litter. Some people just act like they know what they are talking about when really they should just ask first when there is doubt. They come off much more idiotic when they *think* they know everything! I don't bother educating people like that anymore...cuz they don't care.

Completely Boxer Crazy
You know...I am a woman that gets irritated sometimes when people mistake my boxers for bulldogs, pit bulls, etc..., but I've learned my lesson and will no longer judge any single person. I made the horrible mistake the other day (smiling here) when I mistook a boxer for a St. Bernard! I am not kidding. This boxer weighed 103 pounds and when I saw him, from the chest up, hanging out of a driver's side window, sniffing the air, waiting for his owner to come back to the vehicle, I said to my husband, "Look at that St. Bernard." I posted about this a week or so ago, sorry if I repeat myself. I then noticed that there were 4 boxers in that SUV, therefore, I waited for the owner too, and then I talked with him for a good, and very enjoyable, 1/2 hour.

But, folks, let's be easier on those that mistake our fur-babies! I am a boxer eagle-eye. I spot them a mile away, and stop dead in my tracks, turn around, etc..., to go see one...and I made a MISTAKE TOO!

Aren't we nuts? But I love it.

Mary
