My wife and I are building a new house and have decided to put in a dog door we have are installing it in the wall that is in our bedroom out to the back yard. It is made by staywell, I just ordered it and will let everyone know how well it works. It has an infrared tag that goes on the collar to only let him in and no other dogs, cats,squirrels,etc... We are supposed to be in around may I will try to figure out how to post some pics of our baby using his new door in our new house. Thanks, Chad, Renee, Bud and New baby due in august.

the fence will be around 5 to 6 foot high. we have enough dogs around that I dont have to worry about cats but we still dont like them....My brother lives about 200 yards away and has 4 labs my parents live about 250 yards away and they have 2 shitzus (just like cats but more annoying). We still have squirrles around the trees and they jump on the roof. We have alot going on now, we just got married in may my wife is 3 months prego, we are living with my parents since I sold my old house right after we got married, and we are currently building our new home. Please pray for us, Thanks. Every thing is going as well as expected.
We are putting it in our bedroom because he sleeps between my feet at night, that way I wont have to get up to let him out of our room. Besides our house is "L" shaped and the rest of the doors leading into the back yard are 15 pane glass doors. The back portion of the house is our guest house it is connected by a screened porch. I will try to post a pic of the downstairs blueprint on my gallery.

We got our first dog door in Oct. I love it all 3 boxers love it and the cat too, and our yard is secure and dog and kid friendly (safe)
Its a hale through the door type with double flaps. I bought this one because of the energy efficiency it claimed to have, they guaranteed 100% satisfaction or my big $$$ back. No regrets
We have an all brick house and through the door seemed the easiest option.
I sometimes wish I had it mounted through the basement den so as to catch the bulk of the dirty feet down there. But alas its right in clear view of my PC in the kitchen so I can either clean their feet or the kitchen floor which ever one I see first. Oh and all three come downstairs in the middle of the night to use it too....We love the doggy door. With 3 boxers it felt like a full time job letting them in and out all the time.

Please let us know how it's works. I'm been thinking about getting one but I have this image in my head of the boys "playing" with the door. Walk up it opens, back up it closes---I can see Sherlock now thinking it is a toy! Your house sounds great with all the glass, lots of dog slobber and nose prints to clean off.

In the near future our kids will have a doggy door. How has everyone trained them to use them?? I am looking foward to everyone talking about the one they have so I can make a good decision. Cop0251 one question about your door, can you have more that one infared collar tag?? Thank you in advance
