Brinks just ate a small bar of soap!!!

Hi all! Brinks (5 1/2 mos.) snuck into my shower and found an almost gone wedge of Lever 2000 soap. I can't stand it...I watch him like a hawk and he ALWAYS finds something to get into. He ate something on a walk the other day that gave him diarrhea for three days, so the vet just put him on flagyl yesterday, along with chicken and rice, and he was just improving. Is this a poison that I need to do something about, or will it just give him more diarrhea, and then be done? Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

He's not the first boxer to eat a bar of soap! Just watch and see if he starts farting bubbles!

Why is it that Boxers love soap so much???!!!! :o He will most likely throw up soon and/or have diarrhea to get it out of his system. And you'll see all the little bubbles! My former boxer, Dolly (at the bridge), ate a bar of Irish Spring before. She threw up bubbles and had diarrhea for about 7 or 8 hours. Keep an eye on him... if it gets too excessive, call your vet. But he should be fine!

Brinks, stick to your regular diet!

our GDOGS never ate any soap but he sure was tough on paper towels,was forever getting them out of the trash.this is the first i have heard of any dog eating soap

Good morning and thanks for your responses...they were reassuring and very funny ! Not so much as a bubbly burp last night....I couldn't believe it! Now he has been going from bathroom to bathroom looking for more! I did call human poison control last night, just to put my mind at ease, and the guy wasn't worried at all. I think I'll continue to buy Lever 2000 soap just in case !! This is totally like being a first time mom all over again! I'm thankful to be able to benefit from all of your experiences. I don't know what it is with soap...but Laila has tried to do this twice...She has gotten hold of an unopened bar and runs to seclusion and has ripped the box open and started to lick it...she would have eaten it if I didn't notice that she was too quiet and probably into no good!! Barbara lovicon
