marciafinn,
I have one of Flash's brothers.
I keep in touch with the breeder on a regular basis and I know that the rest of the siblings are all well and good.
Flash was such a BEAUTIFUL boy, I think about him every day!!!
I have pictures of him on my board at work.
I just know that Flash is no longer suffering and that is a good thing but his life was taken WAY too soon and that still makes me sad.

well i am sorry to say this but i have to. :(
in Malta, animal abuses are quite common. unfortunatly, there is not enough law enforcement and it seems that aminal abusers are free to to anything they like when they like. afew weeks ago a very rare species of bird came to breed on our island. these three birds stayed at a natural sanctuary for a couple of days and on the day they were leaving they were shot dead while flying away from the island. Malta has also been mentioned in british newpapers regarding our hunting problem. but not only hunting problems exist. dog fights are quite a hobby for some unrespectful citizens (if they may be called so). dogs are trained hard from when they are still very young in order to survive a fight. as soon as they are born, their tail is cut off and there ears are shaved as much as possible.
after a dog fight, the unfortunate dog who looses, is so wounded that the owner burns him alive. is this right?????
last year a puppy was found roaming the streets with half his face corroded. someone had trown some acid on his face and let him go.
a great dane was found some months ago with one foot in the grave. he was so dehydrated that all his bones where showing. he hadnt eaten or drank anything for a whole month. the man who found him said that the dog needed around 6 months of continuous care, if he would survive. this stornwas heard of a couple of weeks ago where the newspaper reported that the dog was in good health but still needed medication.
what do you think?

Some people are awful and cruel, but look how many great people have come out of the woodwork to give this dog a chance. Amazing that they would offer money to find the culprits. This dog hopefully will recover and find a great home. He's so young he has his whole life ahead of him. I hope he will have a happy one.

Sadly the sick person who tortured this poor dog has committed a first degree misdemeanor that is punishable for NO MORE than 2 years. This is not enough for someone with such a disregard for life. It is not enough time to punish a person who gets his kicks from torturing an innocent animal.

This is a very sick person who is a serious, violent threat to his community and society. He will serve a minimum sentence; he will pay a hefty fine (that he will be allowed to finance monthly,) and he will be released upon society in less than 2 years.
It is sad.

Several people have mentioned that deviant behavior progresses to even more violent crimes against humans. Right now in Baton Rouge, only a few miles from where I live, a serial killer is being kept pending a trial date. According to the police he has been on the prowl for quite some time. They have linked him to many murders through DNA. He was caught last summer after many murders. Several articles mentioned animal abuse was one of the acts he did in his younger days. So there may be a great deal of truth to the progression of an animal abuser to a serious violent offender. I agree if animal abuse held a stiffer penalty and counseling was part of the sentence there may be less violent offenders in their future.

I'm truly horrified that people exist on this earth who have no regard for life to do something like this to an innocent animal. Why do they feel the need to punish an animal who is defenseless? I know God has a reason for everything, however, I find it difficult to find reasoning in things like this. Perhaps it is only to teach others the true importance of compassion.

I hope the people who have given so much to save these animals are blessed because in my humble opinion, they are deserving. And additionally, I hope those monsters get what they are deserve too.

Thanks for the update on his siblings Kodie. I am glad to hear the rest are doing well.

I pray that someday animal suffering will end! I know everyone else here does too and since there are a lot of members maybe someday we will be lucky enough to see that.
