I am in the process of getting a rescue right now. My four legged baby passed away early December, and like you it left a huge void in my home. I started looking for local breeders at first but once I stumbled on the rescue group I knew that was what I wanted to do. Being able to offer one of these lovely dogs a happy home out-weighs the unknowns. And the rescue group really does everything possible to ensure that the dog will be a perfect fit.

Good for you! I personally would go rescue too:) but I'm a little bias!

You know sometimes in rescues we get puppies too. And like everyone said ^^ there is no guarantee on any dogs life at any age.

Good luck!

I have to Boxers. Cassie ( 7 years old)is from a Pet Shop and have so many health issues including Allergies, bumps, etc.
Emma( 6 years old) is a rescue. She is healthy like a rock.
If you don't have any other pet at home I will say Rescue a young one.

I know he is not all Boxer but I got Tucker from the pound in August. I wasn't going to get another dog but couldn't keep myself from browsing the pounds.

Of the 50 or so dogs there this one Boxer mix kept pulling me back to see him. He looked me square in the eyes every time I spoke as if he was trying as hard as he could to understand me.

I don't know how he ended up there but I'm now sure it wasn't his fault. He stays in the house on his own all day while I'm at work and the only thing he does is gather the car keys and his collar by the end of the day.

As much as I love to look at the pictures of your pure Boxers I have no regrets about giving Tucker a new home.

I thought you might enjoy one more success story.

Thank you! With people like you in the world we can make a difference, one dog at a time! They ALL need somewhere to call home...no matter what 'clothes' they are wearing.
