breaking windows!

My boxer has broken out my front picture window, and smaller windows also that were rather high. I've had to replace any windows he could reach with tempered glass. it's well worth it, and I've not had a broken window since. good luck

Just out of curiosity, for you all who have had your dogs break through the windows, did they go through the window and actually go after what ever they were so excited about? Or were they just kinda surprised at the broken window and forgot about what was outside anyway.

I have had the same problem. Daisy and Diesel get so excited when they see anything outside (squirrels, cats, kids, mailman, etc).

One day in November, this man was walking his dogs down the block and decided to stop right in front of my house and watch my dogs go balistic. My husband went outside and asked the man to keep moving, of course he did not. Next thing you now, Diesel had broken the picture window, and would you belive the man still just stood there watching!! By the grace of God my Diesel was not hurt, the picture window was a different story.

We ended up replacing the glass with the industrial strength glass. The guys that installed the window could not believe that my dog had done this, they thought it was pretty funny!!

Still have not been able to break (no pun intended) of jumping on the window.

Rex hasn't broken any wndows yet but he ruins both my screen on the back door and my mom and dad's (his favorite babysitters) screen on their backdoor every summer.

breaking windows!

I've never had my dogs actually go through the windows. The first time it happened, my dog required stitches on her front legs -- so we were very lucky to have been home. she was actually excited to see my son on the other side of the glass. there have been other times when the window was broken, and the dog hasn't had a scratch. I now make sure I have strong, tempered glass wherever my dogs like to sit and look out. it's for the best.

my grandparents had two boxer brothers that were 90lbs and 110lbs...they always jumped on the windows...one time when the ups man stopped by to drop off a package, they hit the glass and broke the windows....unfortunately the package didn't get dropped off, the only thing left on the step was the clipboard the ups guy carried....guess he was in a hurry to get out of there.
luckily the screen held them in, so they replaced their windows with plexiglass...and it worked from then on!
