Boxer Pal
Hello everyone,

My name is Tim and just recently bought an all white boxer with a brown spot over his left eye. I love him to death and the reasoning for getting him is because my 9 year old lab just passed away a couple of months ago. I also have a 8 year old brindle boxer who is amazing and so obedient compared to my past labs. Labs were amazing dogs, but the funny mannerisms and affection won me over for boxers. Since the death of my lab, I have become very adamant about picking the right dog food for any of my dogs. I have lost 3 labs in my life all around 8-10. Although that is close to their average life cycle, they should be living longer with the exercise and affection we give them on a daily basis. It is hard losing a pet and want both of mine to last as long as possible. I hope to find a lot of these answers on this site to help my dogs live as healthy and long as possible.

Happy to join the forum,
Tim Racobaldo

Greetings!

Hi Tim, and welcome! You do realize, I imagine, that statistically, the average Boxer life span is generally shorter than that of a lab. The stats seem to be skewed a bit by the high cancer and cardiomyopathy rates amongst Boxers. Also, has your new white been hearing tested? Is he a puppy or adult? Nice to hear you care about diet--just as important as not feeding human kids McDonald's or soda daily. How have you decided to go with this? Best wishes!
