Protectiveness
I have to agree that they would be fine until someone tried to take the sofa.
My hubby is a truck driver and is gone thru the week. We had gotten Boone while hubby was away and so Boone hadn't met him yet when he walked into the house. Boone backed up really fast, knocked into the kitchen table sent that sliding and then pee'd all over the floor.
Well needless to say it's still the family joke 2.5 years later.
SO I can't really say if he would be protective or not. Lexus is a different story, she'll bark (she sounds like a hound dog) and the hair on the back of her neck will stand on end and she has a very low growl.
Most of the time when someone comes over whether it be a stranger or a friend I have to protect the person from some VERY serious loving. LOL I won't even let them into the house usually because I don't want them to be attacked with love.
They sound really vicious with each other and us when they play, but I can't really imagine that they would harm some stranger. I guess it just depends upon the personality of your boxer. Hopefully we won't ever have to be put in the position to find out.

I have only seen her give a warning growl once, it kind of unnerved me as she had never done this before. I got up and turned on all the outside lights, (we live rural) and didn't see anything or anyone. But I left all the lights on for awhile anyway. If we had a intruder, Sophie would probably run for the basement and hide! But that's ok with me, I don't want her hurt. appicon Patty
