No, Scrapper does not drool either! But, he does fart a lot, audibly, too and they are real killers. And he is a messy water drinker, leaving puddles under his dish. Also, you have to wipe big eye goobers off in the morning, more so when he was a puppy, but still now as well. However, none of that matters, he is just such a big lovebug, we all adore him.lovicon

I must admit that drooling was one of my fears when I got Hammer as a gift for my husband. I had the Turner & Hooch movie in my head, and I was sure he would be the same. I have since learned that that really isn't the case. Water being stored in the lips after drinking can make for some wet spots, but I can handle water!! Have your fiance look around on BW, I assure you, the good traits outweigh the bad ones a million times over.

Congratulations on your wedding!!

Apollo turns six months old this week and appears to have started to develop his drool gene. It started with the bubbles and this weekend turned into a full fledged drool at the scent of chicken marinade! He's actually not too bad with the water dish, but that too may change.

Boxer's drooling

I think that just like there are so many different types of boxers, (meaning colors and body types) there are also different levels of drooling. I'm surprised that most of you said your boxers don't drool a lot. My Rocky is a real droolbucket. I do have drool all over my walls, the tv screen always has dried slime over it, and my windows always have nose prints and drool on them. I could just follow him around with a paper towel and windex. And don't forget about the car. I washed the car the other week and sat back and admired how nice and shiney clean it looked. Then I happened to look up and low and behold, the ceiling was full of dried slime. When he's playing or after he eats or drinks if he shakes his head, look out! The slime goes flying in all directions.
Don't get me wrong. My Rocky is the love and joy of my life. I wouldn't trade him for anything, but you really can't be obsessive about everything being clean when you have a boxer. He makes up for it in all the joy and happiness he gives back to me. He has the best disposition and personality of any dog I've ever known. He's truly my best friend.

Some boxers definitely drool more than others. It depends if they have big droopy jowls or not. My last boxer Hooligan was a big drooler, we used to call him the slimemonster. It was on the walls, the furniture, my cloths - just about everywhere. He drooled all the time. I foster for boxer rescue so I have had lots of different boxers at my house and the majority of which never really drooled too much at all. Most dogs will drool a bit when eating and drinking or when they are hot and running around. And just my luck the boxer I am about to adopt is also a drooler, probably not quite as bad as Hooligan but he definitely drools more that some others. Look at the photos in my gallery for the droopy jowls, I doubt you can tell if they will have droopy jowls when they are puppies its a chance you take, but when you love them so much it worth the extra cleaning.

Bubbles !!!

Luckily All I have to deal with is the Wet Lips after Brutus Drinks and then the occasional Bubbles. But I would take bubbles any day over the gas.

I just don't understand how something so cute and sweet could produce something so vile!!!

Well my first boxer was a real big drooler it was always on my clothes and one shake of that head ...........lookout!!! I was surprised when other boxer owners told me their boxer didn't drool at all. Now Jordi (current and second boxer) doesn't drool at all. Just wet lips after drinking water. My first boxer had very long lips though.......and this caused the drooling. You'll notice that dogs that drool have long lips such as the St. Bernard and Mastiff and the named "king of droolers" said to be the Neapolian Mastiff.smashicon
