Boxers and Cats

I have two cats and three boxers. Hammer, who was raised with the cats is fine with them, but does like to chase them since he doesn't really see him that often. Little does he know the cat that hates him the most, Miss Morgan, sleeps on top of him almost every night. They have a very bizarre relationship. She will have nothing at all to do with him if he's awake.

My two rescues however, are a completely different story. Ginger likes to chase and Booker licks his chops when he sees them, so we just don't risk it since either of them could kill a cat with one bite.

 

[Cami]

Cami loves our cat (her sister), Silver. They really have a great time playing every night at 9pm sharp. Silver has areas of the house that she can seek some solace from Cami but they do get along well. They don't snuggle up with each other just yet but that might come eventually.

I guess like others have said that it depends on the dog. Just make sure to provide supervision whever they are together. Also provide an area such as a tree house that is high enough that the cat can get some time away from the dog.
