Is Reina to small???
My Reina just turned 1 yrs old. She is only about 46lbs...she is all legs. I feed her Canadae. Is there such thing as a petite boxer, thats how the vet referred to her? My friend who has a boxer, said just wait, after 1 yr to about a year and a half, the muscle packed on. Any other small boxers out there? Reinas Mom

They come in all shapes and sizes-I like the word "petite" 
My last girl was 53 lbs full grown and very lanky-looked like a pup all her life. They grow until they are three and do, I have found, fill out a lot in the second year. As long as she is vet checked and healthy I would not worry at all. Canidae is a great food. My boy is over eighty lbs and is a force! Enjoy your little girl!

normal?
i have taken my baby mary to the vet about 7 times over the past year other than the norm for vaccinations. i tend to be a worry wart and am constantly wanting the best for my mary. She is a year and a half old on dec. 12th and she only weighs 35 pounds. now my vet assures me that is normal because she was the runt of her litter but she is unusually small. the vet tells me she is one of the healthiest boxers he has seen. Her ribs dont show but she still is very small. I worry too much i think. Is that normal?

Is it normal to worry so much or worry about your pup's size? Kidding- I am the consummate worrier but if your vet says she is healthy then I would smile and enjoy your little girl. Health is what counts not size. My boy was the runt too and they told me he might not grow and he is a whopping 80 lbs! You just never know. We have a sweet boxer friend who is a force and she is 3 years old (was not the runt or even close)and hovers around 40 lbs-also very, very healthy. They really do vary and not all fall into the breed standard so if I were you I would try not to worry!

Riley is 7mos old and weighs 45lbs. She is really stocky. Max is almost 16mos old and weighs 60. I worry about mine all the time. But, if you have a little girl then she can be healthy even if she is small.
