Ok, here is how I let them go....
I think of my self as a master jeweler (a master one cause it's my fantasy!
)I clean the jem, and look at it's inside, the heart of the jem. At that point I nip a little here, tuck a little there, shaping it to it's fullest potential. Then I give it a good polish and the given the right setting (adoptive home) then I get:
A MASTERPIECE
It is really all we do
that and I always remember that it isnt MY dog, it belongs to the rescue. Once you see where he/she is going, it is not hard. Honestly, I would love to come back as a dog owned by one of our adopters!!

Oh - the giving up the foster is the worst/best part. I have been volunteering with Rockin P for a while but I just started fostering. My first foster was the sweetest girl - thank goodness she was only with us for 1 week or she might have been mine to keep!! Our second foster was the wildest/craziest/sweetest girl. I know she isn't a good fit in my home because she has a personal vendetta against my kitty - but she was with us for 1 1/2 months. My 5 year old drew a family portrait for the end of kindergarten and drew her in it. Now - I'm on vacation and she went to stay with another foster home until I get back and I think she's being adopted today. I'm so happy for her because the home she's going to sounds wonderful - but I'm so sad for me.... also I'm afraid she's going to be scared and it breaks my heart. So - I know what you mean about giving up fosters - it's bittersweet!!!
