Ok, here is how I let them go....
I think of my self as a master jeweler (a master one cause it's my fantasy!

I clean the jem, and look at it's inside, the heart of the jem. At that point I nip a little here, tuck a little there, shaping it to it's fullest potential. Then I give it a good polish and the given the right setting (adoptive home) then I get:
A MASTERPIECE
It is really all we do

that and I always remember that it isnt MY dog, it belongs to the rescue. Once you see where he/she is going, it is not hard. Honestly, I would love to come back as a dog owned by one of our adopters!!
