Super Boxer
I'm wondering if there are other breeds that have as much personality as boxers. The other dogs we've had in our lives were mixed breeds that were just dogs. They acted like dogs. Of course we loved them to death and they all had their little funny "things", but nothing like the boxers we have now. They seem almost human! Anyone with experience with other breeds that can shed some light?

To be honest i personaly do not think there is any other breed like the boxer. I have hound dogs beagels, my mom raises jack russells and chiuauas; i have yet to find another dog with the personality and humor as my boxer Harlan.

I have met a couple of other dogs with personality similar to boxers, but not exactly like them. My parents have a toy poodle, she definitely has personality. She isn't goofy like a boxer, she understands what you are saying(I have to take a bath- uhuh, is her look) and she herds cattle(well only twice) but she talks to you like a boxer does, and she is really very humanlike but just doesn't have the sense of humor boxers have. Their papillion mix has a sense of humor but she is aggressive about it. She used to think it was fun to play chase with my dad, and tried my oldest daughter once, I put a halt to that. The dog is an aggressive bitch(literally and figuratively), her sense of humor is not fun for all, mainly just for her. I don't take my kids around her for obvious reasons. I've met lots of other dogs with distinguishing personality, but if the personalities aren't encouraged to develop, then they don't. I think that something about us boxer owners. For the most part, we all have excellent taste and an excellent sense of humor;)

Good question! I think there are other dogs with personality but I don't think it is as predominant in other breeds. So many people admire Maggie and comment on how pretty, friendly, intelligent, curious etc. etc. she is - and these people have their own dogs standing beside them. They really do seem to be taken with her. And I've had a number of people tell me that they really want a boxer but have some other dog for some reason. Maggie puts smiles on people's faces - because she is carrying a stick down the street, watching birds flying by, watching the delivery man, sniffing a baby, finding a ball on the side of the road, or just sitting in the car staring out at the world going by. Boxers are the best!

I've had many dogs, but none with the personality of a Boxer! Boxer's are the only one for me.

I have to say our little poodle has personality plus. A very smart little dog that can be taught anything and very lovable as well. We adore him. But the boxer demands attention in how they walk and look. So very unique in their stature. How they move with such grandeur and grace and on the other hand they are so rough when playing but so enjoyable to watch. A combination of traits that turn people's heads. It's just not one thing about a boxer that makes this breed so special - it is many things. Too many to count.

I think each breed has its certain personality and traits but i personally do not think there is a breed as human as a boxer!!!

I too, have had many different breeds over my lifetime and none even came close to the personality of a boxer.
