We had several breeds growing up such as a German Shephard, Australian Shephard, Brittany Spaniel and another kind of hunting dog. Then Perkey, a small mutt who was the smartest dog I've ever known. He was Mr. Personality. My husband had a Basset Hound and a Dachshund growing up. I was married 10 years before we finally decided on what breed to get. When we got Roxy, she was loving and sweet, but pretty funny and made me laugh. I love her. Then we got Buster about 5 months ago. He is naughty, sweet and hysterical. He is like a one year old child, constantly into everything. He plays hide and seek and steals toys from my sons bedroom. He is the funniest dog I've ever seen. He makes us laugh constantly. I will never have another breed, laughter and a sense of humor makes the world a much better place to live. :)

I've grown up around several breeds. My immediate family has always raised boxers. However, I had an aunt and uncle with Rottweilers; another aunt and uncle with Bassets; and another aunt and Uncle with St. Bernards.

I can tell you one thing.... Boxers (hands down) bring the most fun and comedy of the four breeds. Bassets are silly, goofy, and lazy. Rotties are fun, loving, and sweet (if raised correctly) and are very smart; And St. Bernards are giant goofy lugs ( I was too young to remember anything else ) I have a lab mix who is probably the smartest dog I've ever come across. He can pick up on tricks that we didn't even mean to teach him. But my DH and I both agree.... we'd never get another breed! They're just a laugh a minute! I've never come across another breed with the same traits.

The humour does it for me

I have two boxers and they make me laugh every day.

The village loves seeing us go down the road with one of them carrying launching stick for the tennis ball on our way to the fields for exercise.

My 9 monrth old girl beans and moves around like a crab everytime we come back into the room.

My 18 months old shakes with delight whenever you speak to him.

No other dogs I have owned have had as much personality.

Boxers are in a world of thier own really. I have a beagle and she is so very very cute, friendly and a little shy but my "Bax" is just like a little kid. Talks to you when he is bored or wants to play, sleeps in, takes up half the bed and just always finding new ways to get into truoble. They are just full of so much life like I have never seen

I agree with many of the posts. I've had all kinds of breeds growing up but Nylah and Davinci definitely exhibit more personality. I never had one of my dogs talk to me. When Nylah is in her crate and wants to get out she does this half bark and then stomps her feet. I mean her personality traits go on and on. When she does something naughty like climb on the counter to try and steal the apple pie it is so hard to be mad at her. We aren't going to mention when she does something and then sits back and laughs at you. I try and explain to people she is truly my daughter and I love her as such!
