My hubby and I do that too. It feels so weird to call them our dogs. They are our girls or our babies.

The mix-up is funny!

yes..... i can relate for sure. my worst habit is taking rolls of film and then bringing the pictures to work to show everyone. they hear sooooo many stories about my pup..... i guess the pup stories and pictures combined is just too much for them!!!!

My BF and I always refer to the dogs as 'our girls', which when we're out with friends and we say 'we really need to get home to the girls' always garners us a few surprised looks! i also refer to my horse as 'my little boy'.

OMG!!

Thanks everyone!! ihad no clue that everyone was like that! sorry to say but i am soo happy to hear it. Rachel, I'm 24 and i though i was becomign this big loser who only stayed home to spend time with her furbaby!! i never go out to clubs, or dinner or to the mall after work because i feel sad that he is in his cage for too long, mind you he stays in there for only 1-2 hours at the most, but that is way too long for me.

i have actually already stop speaking to some people because they didn't understand and were rude about my Cash.

i wish i knew more boxerfreaks like me here in Miami, so i could socialize and spend time with my little man all at once.;)

How many of you have heard, "You guys need to have kids!!"

i hear it all the time, my boyfried and i have been together 3 years now and everyone in my office has kids, so that's all i hear. "When are you getting married and having real kids, not just some dog!" :( get's me sooo mad. DOn;t they know this is my baby, not just some dog!! I guess they get annoyed when i compare my "pupi" to their babies. my friend gets annoyed that i call him "pupi" she feels it is a baby's name and it's wrong to call a dog that, oh well.

today, i;m supposed to go to the beach with somefriends but that beach doesn't allow dogs so now i am sitting here trying to think of a way out if because i don't want to leave my baby alone all day. LOL!! oh well.

I have to agree with the previous posts about not going out because of Abby. I'm 25, and I pass up happy hour invitations with co-workers, and parties during the week because Abby's been in her crate all day and I feel bad. I'm glad I'm not alone in that!! haha...now maybe I should just find a boxer-freak boyfriend, and I'd be set! hahahaha

How many of us take our furbabies with us to run errands after we get home? I don't go anywhere w/o Abby (unless it's warm out, and she can't stay in the car because I'll be in somewhere too long).

How many of us have pictures of our babies at worK?? *proudly raises her hand*. ;)

We are with all of you!
Talking about "our boys"
"ok we need to be home by 4:30 to feed the boys"
"We can only stay out until 10:30 b/c that will be 4 hours and they can't be home that long by themselves"
We also have a diaper bag for them!
write out babysitting insturctions for grandparents
Wipe their faces after eating
only the best toys and food
A new collar and leash every 3-4 months
poop bags on every coat pocket
Oh I have to stop!

I would have to agree, we are constantly giving up the queen size bed for the "Queen" and our social life has been non existent since we got Hailey a year ago. We are always the last to arrive some where and the first to leave so we can go save Hailey from the lonely house. I think the bruises are correct also, constantley trying to expain a new scratch or bruise at work. We are also very forgiving owners as there is always something they get into that they should'nt have and then that sad face has to be forgivin.smashicon ::

I am finding out some of my friends have no sense of humor when I tell them some amazing or amusing thing the dogs did and they look at me dead pan...so maybe add:

Rearranging friendships to gravitate towards people who "get it".

SO TRUE!

I completely agree with you lillibirdy. i have often had to stop myself when talking about my furbabies...most people that don't have them...simply don't get it!smashicon

after speaking with one of my friends who used to work in a animal hospital...she told me that my gravitation toward boxer insanity foolicon was something she saw alot of working there.

she told me (after one of my MANY stories :D and my apologies for talking about my babies AGAIN) that she noticed people who owned particular breeds of dogs get really attached and somewhat "crazy" about thier babies. boxers were one of the breeds that seemed to cause this "condition":p
she said for me not to worry, all my story telling was fine...she understood it and found it so amusing (knowing me in my "pre-boxer" days)

all i can say is i love it...i don't mind being "crazy"...and all these things that annoy others (slobber, hair everywhere, bruises and whatnot) are what i find so amusing and special.

i love sharing all these common traits with you...'cause we do all "get it"!cool2icon
