Macie

Boxer Pal
What problems may I encounter with a boxer mix? Macie is a 10 week old boxer/german shephard mix. We got her from a local guy whose boxer got pregnant from an all black german shephard (free). She is great, and we love her so much. But, we are looking for advice/warnings to prepare us for her future. PLEASE ADVISE!!!!

Super Boxer
3 of my 4 are boxer mixes:

boxer/greyhound - definite boxer personality (13 yrs)
boxer/akita - definite akita personality & looks (12 yrs)
boxer/amer. bulldog/? - all white, parts of both plus some other traits (4 yrs)

All of mine are rescues; love them to death. Read up on personality of the other part - in your case GS and you should be fine.

You should read up on the characteristics of both breeds :) As is the case with *any* mixed breed dog, the puppy will inherit a mix of the characteristics of it's parents. So you could get the best of both breeds, the worst of both breeds - or most likely, somewhere in between. That goes for health issues as well as appearance and temperament.

There is no real way of predicting exactly what that mix of characteristics will turn out to be - it really comes down to a throw of the genetic dice (meaning that the puppies in the litter may even differ from each other).

Can you post your puppies picture? I would love to see what that mix looks like. I think my puppy may be mixed with a german shepard as well. I haven't been able to find another dog that looks anything like my Emmitt. Just currious!!!

My puppy is mixed with german shepherd and he has the best personality! Since both breeds are very smart, he too is very smart. He is very exciteable when it is time to play (the boxer part of him) but is very calm inside or when the situation demands it (the german shepherd part). He doesnt ever jump on people (probably more german shepherd).

Read about both breeds so you know what to expect. Both breeds are very very good, loving, intuitive, and devoted dogs. You shouldnt have any problems!

I have a mix breed Boxer

My baby girl Lola is 14 weeks old, she is 1/2 boxer, but we're not sure what her other 1/2 is. She is all black with a white patch that runs from her chin to her chest, and has 3 white socks. The man who found them said that she is 1/2 Collie (Lassie kind), but the vet said NO WAY. He said MAYBE POSSIBLY Border Collie, but he doubts it. Everyone thinks 1/2 Black Lab, but I think she'd be more than 20lbs at 14 weeks if she was 1/2 Lab... I have done a lot of reading on Boxer personalities and traits... she doesn't have the "jowels"?? that a Boxer has, but the shape of her head is like a boxer, and she is very sleek and lean like a Boxer, instead of wagging her whole tail she wags her whole rear end (like i hear a Boxer does). The other possibility the Vet said of her other 1/2 is Pitt Bull. But I am not convinced of this, and would prefer it not be. (I have pictures of Lola posted)

Boxer Booster
boxer/lab mix

we just got a boxer/lab mix a month ago... he is 11 weeks old. He is really sweet, and from reading this site, has a very 'boxerish' personality. Although his head is lab like, he has the eyes and wrinkly forehead of a boxer, and the body is built like a boxer. I can't wait to see him grow up~ he has beautiful soft short black hair. He has a very short tail- like a boxer docked, and i don't know why, cause he wasn't !!

Enjoy your baby, Dyanne
