Boxer Love From Illinois

Hello ~ We are new to the site and wanted to introduce ourselves! We have two beautiful boxers named Maggie (3 year old fawn) and Otis (4 month old flashy/fawn). They are our children, if you will.

We really hadn't planned on two pups, although I always commented on how I eventually wanted a male brindle boxer. Ultimately, we fell in love with Otis the moment we saw him, and home he came (after the ok from Maggie, of course). So I guess this means my brindle pup will have to wait (grins).

We live in the southwest suburbs of Chicago and love taking them to the dog parks. I was hoping we could learn a few things on this site regarding training and local boxer events.

Also, we have a two week road trip planned later this year and will be forced to board both dogs. I am really nervous about this and was hoping on any feedback people have had (good and bad).

Welcome aboard to you, Maggie and Otis!

Just do you're homework on boarding. Visit a few places to inspect so you feel comfortable. I use a doggy day care when ever I have to leave town. It's slightly more expensive but SO worth it in my mind. That way they aren't cooped up all day and night!

Hello and welcome from Tyson and I in PA. If your near a Petsmart, they have "doggie hotels" and they are really nice, and not too expensive. They will play with them also during the day. Something to check in to.
