I have noticed that D.C. likes to chase spots of light. First he would go after spots on the roof of the truck when the sunlight hit my watch. Now I take a flashlight and he chases that spot of light all over the yard at night. He will keep chasing as long as I have the gumption to hold that Mag Light over my head (they get heavy after a while!). Anyone else out there play Boxer flashlight tag?

Sounds like a nighttime version of chase the water from the hose but with less mud. We're always up for something new so we'll try it and let you know.

Beware!!!

My dad thought this was funny to have Dillon chase the light from his watch.

I swear that dog has a one track mind. Once he gets it in his head HE IS DONE. There is no talking to him for at least 5 or 10 minutes. He just sits there all tense and ready to pounce and looking all over for it.

It is hysterical when he is playing with it, but so pathetic when he can't get it out of his mind when you are done playing.

The sun caught my cell phone the other day and reflected off my neighbors fence. Dillon immediately jumped straight for the light and over two hedges to get to it. Next thing I know Dillon is standing between the fence and the hedge looking at me like, what mom? didn't you see it?

I'd be careful about this game too. There was a Dog Whisperer episode that I watched where a dog had become obsessive about chasing lights and laser pointers. The dog would constantly look for a light to chase if he was awake. His only breaks were sleep.... It was really sad to watch. BTW: The Dog Whisperer is Ceaser Milan's show on National Geographic, he is a dog behaviorist.

Joey does not wag his nub hardly AT ALL BUT if you turn on a flashlight, it goes like crazy! LOL I have never seen him so happy and his nub wagging so fast. He will chase it until I turn it off and still looks for it for a few minutes. It is GREAT to play whenever he hasn't had his usual activity during the day (heat index been around 112 lately).
