Boston Terriers????

ok so i absolutely love the boxer breed. I think they are the most wonderful dogs ever. but at this point and time in my life I can't add another large dog to the mix. so i have been thinking about a boston terrier. I tried to look on the net to find more info about them but have really had no luck. if anybody has any suggestions or comments on boston terriers or where to find some really good info, i would greatly appreciate it.

i reallly want a boston.. in fact they were my first choice. As much as i know.. they are mini boxers :P VERY intelligent strong..a little less stubborn and hardheaded. you should ask mama zookeeper as she has one.

I have 2 female BTs...they are very attached to each other and are such great dogs! I like to think that my daughter (Nu Boxer Fan) ended up with a boxer because she liked my puppies so much but wanted a bigger dog (for her bigger husband). The boxer and boston are very similar in looks and oersonality. A good site for info is Thebostonsite.com. BTs are smart but can be very stubborn; that's the terrier part of them! Size-wise they're perfect! Mine are pretty big...both 25-28 lbs. Some are very small. Of coures it depends on the parents! Sadie has a cork-screw tail; Lulu has a small tail that whirls around like a propellar! They are famous for their gaseous emissions! Can clear out a room and with 2 you have twice the aroma!!
They are very lovable, love to be with people (sound familiar?), love to play!
They're right up there with Boxers!!!

Check out my gallery and meet Scampy our BT. They are such great dogs. A lot pf people here on BW have BT and Boxers because they get along so well. The Boston while being smaller, are very tough. They come in 3 different size catagories. Scampy is in the middle catagory, but he is on the smaller side. He weighs in at 14 pounds. At times I need to save Joe from Scampy! But, they are really best of friends and great playmates. They are also very, very smart. I found training Scampy to be very easy. Good luck!

thankx for the info. I had always gotten the impression that bt's have the little man syndrome. somewhat aggressive. but not like a fighter or anything just fiesty. another question i had was about their ears. do the have to be cropped to stand up or are they naturally that way?? Like I said I just started to look at this breed and i what to be sure of what i would be getting myself into. thankx again

Boston Terriers are GREAT dogs!!

I have a female boston terrier and my sister has a male. They do not have "little man" syndrome what so ever. My Bugsy is absolutely adorable and gets along with all types of personalities. She loves children (the youngest being 2!). She lets my daughter dress her and she loves to lick my niece. I think a boston terrier would be a great addition to you family. If you PM me I would be happy to give you a really good website that I belong to. I am actually doing the opposite of you. I already have a boston terrier and will be looking to get a boxer next year.

These little creatures are like little Boxers, so sweet & loving,their ears stand on their own, as they mature.I lost my BT Babe, last year he was 10yrs old, he had conjestive heart failure,& not a day goes by that I don't think of him,my Boxer Susie loved him so much, she was very depressed after his death, I couldn't get another BT right away,my daughter got us a Boxer pup for Christmas & boy did he put a smile on Susies face. We will never forget our sweet BT BABE. LOL, Hanley

Boxers and Bostons!!! Oh yeah! They go hand in hand. I have 2 boxers and not enough room for a 3rd so I did a lot of research and found the miniature version. My Boston is a hoot! Gets along great with everyone. Have a look at my gallery and you will see! I say go for it!

I've already told DH that when he's ready for Boomer a friend, I either want it to be a Boston or a Frenchie (I just love those, too!). I know a house where they have 3 Bostons and I've been know to B/S (no, not Boxer-Stalk; Boston-Stalk) by there a time or two! It's funny that SadieLu said that about a corkscrew tail, b/c one of these has one, and I kinda thought it was a deformity or something-but still VERY cute no matter what!

We have four dogs 1-Boxer "Jake" he is 3 yrs old (95 lbs.) , 2- Schipperkes that are 10 yrs old they did not want to play with our Boxer at all so we got "Allie" is a Boston Terrier [brindle] 17 mths 20 lbs. she is they are great playmates. Allie the BT wants to sleep next to Jake all of the time & has to be touching him.
