Okay, guys. I hope I'm posting this in the right place, but here goes...
Boomer needs some of those wonderful healing vibes ya'll send out so well. He is currently at the vets office being observed b/c they think he might have swallowed a "foreign object". I haven't found anything missing, but the vet said he felt some tenseness when he palpitated his stomach. I guess it all started last week when DH and I had to go out of town to help his brother move. We left Friday morning and my dad came to stay with Boomer. Dad said he wouldn't eat much, but we just assumed it was b/c we weren't there, and he wasn't used to my dad. We got back Sunday around lunchtime, and there were a couple of vomit places on the kitchen floor. Dad said he must have just done it b/c he had just walked through the kitchen and it wasn't there (it was nothing but stomach bile). Well, we just thought we'd keep and eye on him, but yesterday morning, he vomited again. DH called me at work to tell me, so I called the vet to make an appt. Before we could get him there, he had vomited two more times. So, they wanted to keep him and give him something to keep him from vomiting and something to try to help him pass anything that could be in his stomach. I did NOT want to leave him, but he said he would probably use the bathroom ALOT and they wanted to be able to check the stool as it came out. He did eat a little food Sunday afternoon, and had gone potty when we got back Sunday and Dad even said he used the potty normally all weekend. So, the vet seems to think it's probably something he can pass on his own, so that's good news, right? Anyway, sorry this is a little long, but you guys are really the only ones who understand how worried I get about my furbaby. I'm going to be good for nothing until I hear some news, b/c he's all I can think about right now. We'd really appreaciate those vibes as soon as possible (or I might get fired!!!) :o

Thanks,
Whitney and Boomer

Positive vibes are coming your way along with prayers from your friends to the north. Hope Boomer is able to "pass" whatever is causing him trouble.

Keep us posted on his progress.

I just got off the phone with the vet office and they said he's still vomiting and they've run one x-ray and didn't see anything. The next step is barium dye and another x-ray. Ya'll, I'm getting more and more worried. What could this be? I'm sitting here at work, bawling my eyes out and can't think of anything but my Boom-man.

I'm supposed to call back around 2:00, so I'll let you know then.

Sorry I didn't post back yesterday afternoon, but things got a little crazy at work and by the time I got to call the vet and they told me he was doing a little better and I could come and see him, I high-tailed it outta here! But, here's the latest: yesterday, he was doing better, so they didn't do an x-ray, but they were still giving him the anti-vomiting medicine, so I couldn't take him home. They said I could today. So, I called this morning, and now he's hyper-salivating, so they want to go ahead with the x-ray to see if there is a blockage. Oooohhh, I'm getting so frustrated with this place!! I told them yesterday morning when I talked to them that I wanted them to go ahead with the x-ray just to make sure. Then they told me yesterday afternoon that they didn't do it and when I asked them why, they said there was no point in paying for it if he didn't need it. Well, obviously he does. If they can't tell me something by this afternoon, I'm going to take him somewhere else. They told me yesterday morning that they had done an x-ray, but when I called back in the afternoon, they hadn't ever even done one! WHAT?! I haven't had my Boomer at home for 3 days/nights now, and I'm getting VERY antsy.

Ya'll please continue to keep Boomer in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks!

Whitney: I'm with you...seems like taking an x-ray should have been done already. I hope Boomer gets better soon!

Latest news sounds pretty good to me. His x-ray looked "great" (that's what the tech said), so I do get to bring him home this evening, but he has to go back tomorrow for the vet to check him over. Wooo-hooo! It has been so empty at home these last couple of days.

New question: he's still not eating very much. What is something I could try to entice him to eat with? The vet said they hadn't even given him any solid food, just canned. But is there anything else you guys can tell me to give him that'll be good for him and get him to eat?

Thanks again!
