boomer doesn't like cars

Boomer is an 11 month old male. He goes to the dog park 3-4 times a week and he is usually jumping to get to into the car. He is also usually ready to go anywhere we are going.

About 3-4 weeks ago he started to hesitate before getting in the car. Today I was taking him to the park and he actually stepped out of the car and tried to run away. When I tried to stop him he got into play stance and tried to bite me. I eventually got him into the car and gave him a treat. He has never shown any agression. Could this fear of cars be age related? He has not had any bad experiences so I am at a loss.

At 11 months, Boomer's about the right age to be going through what's called a second fear imprint period.

Thanks, Matt. I did not know about that, I am an inexperienced dog owner.

I will use the same methods as when he was a young puppy (I bribed him with treats:D
