Black Eye

Since I had the week off work I decided to take my daughter to the ball field to practice hitting with the new bat she got for Christmas. My son and his friend came along too. Well, as I was turned around catching a ball from the outfield from one of the boys, I turned around and my daughter had already thrown a ball to me and it popped me hard on my forehead! OUCH!! It hurt so @#@$ bad I just knelt down for a few minutes. I got a big goosegg from that. Now it's 2 days later and my right eye has gotten progressivly blacker and bluer. It looks horrible and we have plans to go out for New Year's Eve! Right now it's so dark and a bit greenish around the edges..I don't think I can hide this and you all know what people think when they see a woman with a black eye! Maybe it will look some better tomorrow but I don't see how..I still have a bump on my forehead.

Oh dear! It looks pretty bad when you show up with a black eye... hubby's going to get a few stares I think Hope it clears up a bit... Glad you're ok. Hurts like a son of a gun when you get smacked in the forehead like that. Fodder to use against your daughter now! I bet she won't think twice about doing some extra stuff around the house now that she gave you a black eye

Paige was so pitiful after it happened. I knew she was sorry and what are you going to do about it, right? It was just an accident..I told her to holler before she throws the ball next time! I didn't realize my eye would turn black and blue too! I look like a real sweetheart right now! I know tomorrow night I'll have to explain this one over and over..at least I'll have a conversation starter..LOL!

Poor Paige... it does feel awful. When I was about 10 my dad tried to teach me to golf, and being the klutz I am I managed to follow through and hit him right in the stomach with a golf club. He has bad arthritis and a fused spine, so all he could do was stand there and wheeze... couldn't double over to recover. I was so traumatized I didn't pick up a golf club until I was 25! Hopefully Paige gets back to baseball before that!!

Oh no! Sorry to hear about that golf experience! Paige loves to play softball and has done so for about 3 years..I hope she keeps it up because that bat wasn't cheap! Next time her Daddy is going to go practice with her! I think I am more traumatized than her!

That is a bummer! Black eyes are no fun.... I've had more than my share over the years (mostly due to the horses).

If it clears up a bit, you can probably do a semi-decent job of covering it. If it's still swollen, ice it a bit to try to take the swelling down. Laura Mercier makes GREAT camouflage makeup--it's a bit pricey but it works really well.

I was thinking along the makeup line, too. Austin socked me one time and gave me a black eye, but I don't think anyone really believed the dog did it!

It's not swollen at all so that's good. It is just so dark looking. I will just try to cover it up but it still looks bad. It should be gone in a few days but I think the bruising looks worse before it gets better. I'll just have to try to cover it up and go on. Happy New Year Everyone!!!

Just wear lots of dark eyeshadow on both eyes...say you're going for a smoky eye!

I am a bit late but for upcoming blackeye events: MAC studio finish concealer. Works wonders!
This is coming from someone who has really dark circles around her eyes but noone knows the secret because she has a secret:D
