Tina it is normal to feel sad and lonely after a split. It takes a lot of adjusting after a break up. Be strong...things will start looking up. Mason helped me through a tough split also and I am so happy he was there with me to help me through it.

Thank you. I know it's normal. I just wish it wasn't happening. I start to do well and feel strong and then something happens (I look through pictures or have to do stuff he used to take care of) and I really miss them. I've been crying off and on for a hour. It really sucks to lose people you love. I know that we are supposed to stay friends, but it isn't the same.

Don't get me wrong, I know in the long run this is prob. for the best. I just hate it right this second.

I feel to old to be starting over. I know I'm only 28, but I was reading the survey that boxerworld started, and I think I'm the only one on the board over 16 who's not married. I don't think of it as a goal, but it is something I want. A person to love for the rest of my life, raise kids with, grow old with...partnership.

I really thought that he was the one, and he isn't. I hate this moment so much. I feel so needy and pitiful. I hope it passes soon and I feel like me again.

My dad is coming to visit next weekend. That should be nice. He's going to take me out for dinner :D ! Now I just have to pick a place that doesn't remind me that I'm there without them :( .

Tina--I've read this thread several times the past week and I must say you seem to be coping really well. Your feelings seem quite normal, given the circumstances. As you probably know, this will get easier as time passes. Keep yourself busy. Is there a social activity of interest to you--some type of activities group/sports league of interest? If so, sign up!

On another note, a friend of mine recently mentioned a book called "Are you the one for me?" It's supposed to be helpful when going through a break-up. --Becky

It sounds like you are doing as well as can be expected. It is a tough thing to deal with but hang in there. You'll do just fine

owen's mum,

I am 26 and still not married. My boyfriend and I have been together 7 years and if he can't decides he wants to get married soon, I will be starting over too!

I have also been reading this post and things will work out in the long run eventhough it might not seem like it.

I'm 34 and divorced so we're not all married!

I have been in a relationship for almost 6 years now but I'm thinking about ending it soon. Time heals all wounds - you are strong and you WILL make it through this! You have all of us!

27 here and unmarried...don't put pressure on yourself. All of my friends have been giving me a hard time since I have been the single one for years. Now I am helping all of them, but one, through messy divorces. It is very painful for them and their children and I feel badly they have to endure this. (I'm not saying all young marriages end this way, but these couples I'm referring to got married for the wrong reasons and that is what I am getting at here.) When the right person comes along you'll know it and be glad that you waited.

Thanks, it feels good to be normal sometimes (most of the time I would prefer not to be :D !) Feeling mostly better today. Had icky crying at work moment when Outlook so rudely notified me that Thursday would have been our 2 year anniversery  very depressing. Got to lady's room before anyone notice :o . Cheerfulness is trying to have it's way with me, and I think I'm going to let it.

Thanks again :) !

I'm 29 and not married.

It is always better to be single than with the wrong person just to be with someone.

I am sure you will feel like yourself again soon. A little bit more every day. It's not easy to end a relationship ever. It will get better!

BTW, I hope you took that reminder off Outlook...

OH Yes I did! I took it off before I even went to the ladies room to cry!

I guess I'm having a harder time with this break up because I really like him. We get along amazingly well. It makes it harder. Basically, we should have been friends instead of BF and GF. I hope one day I'm comfortable being friends with him again. He's a good guy and a lot of fun. I even learned how to bowl and play pool because of him :D (I stink at sports and am horrible with public embarrassment :o !)

On the other hand, he was like a million times more compatable than my last BF. Maybe I'm finally getting better at picking them??
