I suppose a bit of background might help :o .

BF and I had been together nearly 2 years. We re-met at Pulix and talked for 5 hours. Shortly after he ended his relationship, we started dating. I stayed with him for a bit, due to conflicts with my mom who was staying with me. When my mom moved out BF& his daughter (split custidy) sp? moved in.

His mother, ex-wife, daughter and I have had lots of head butting over the last 2 years, but I thought we finally sorted everything out. Just after Thanksgiving, he broke up with me.

He didn't have enought money to move out, so they've stayed with me. BF, the little one and I have spent time watching movies, Christmas shopping, playing games over the last month. We didn't do every thing together any more, just most things.

He is moving out over New Years weekend, and I could really use some positive words right now. I have never had a relationship end while I still liked, loved and was in love with the other person. We swear that we will be friends, but I just don't know.

I know that this will give me more time with Owen and school (when I go back.) Logically I know it's the right thing for everyone; we want totoally different lives and he thinks I am far to strict with his daughter. But as I look around this silent house (Owen's not feeling well and is sleeping :( ) I can't help be sad. OK really reall sad.

Tina, there is nothing wrong with being sad. It's completely normal!! I ended a relationship with a guy one time because we wanted different things out of life.... on a day-to-day basis, we got along great, but in the future, I knew we wouldn't make it.

As far as you guys staying friends...do what is best for you. If you want to stay friends with him and seeing him doesn't hurt too much, then stay friends. If it hurts to see him as just a friend, tell him you can't do that right now. You've got to take care of yourself.

You sound like you're looking at it in a very healthy manner--you know it's the right move and you'll be able to spend more time with Owen :) But of course you're going to be sad. The end of a relationship is always difficult, more so if you don't actually have problems and you *like* the other person.

It might be easier for you to be away while he moves out... don't know. I know my ex chose to be gone the day I moved because he thought it would be easier for him.

You'll be fine! It might take a little while, but we're here for you :)

Thanks abradbury. It's always nice to know other people consider you normal  well other boxer lovers any way    !

As for staying away, I don't think that will be posible. I took Owen for a walk, it started to rain, I started to run, Owen stopped.....My big toe is puffy and purple and painful. At least I get alliteration out of it. Ouch :( !

You wouldn't be normal if you weren't sad. No matter what it's still the ending of a relationship. As far as friendship goes, do what feels best for you. ((hugs))

A New Year Of UGH!!!

On top of the BF and daughter moving out and the purple toe, I just discovered that my roof is leaking in the bathroom. I don't actually make enought money to pay all of my bills (I'm planning on getting a second job :( ) and now I need roof repairs  :(  !!!!

My mantra is the Serenity Prayer, but I don't think it is helping.

Any boxer loving roof repair people in the South Florida area willing to do a boxer mom a huge good turn? I can offer boxer sitting, child tutoring, house cleaning, office work, and good karma in return.

It can only get better from here (please God!)

When it rains it pours!! (unfortunately right through the roof in your bathroom too :( ) I really hope things turn around for you soon. At least once the separation is complete you can begin the healing and letting go. Sending hugs your way!!! Let's hope for a much better 2005.

Could you get a roomate to help you out with the bills? I hope things get better for you real soon. Positive vibes ~~~~~ heading your way. :)

Sorry, I was going to post an update days ago, but I forgot.

James is all moved out. My second bedroom has an echo from being so empty. I miss him and his daughter a lot.

The toe of pain is getting better :) . I can walk on it OK now.

An old ex-BF looked at the roof for me and thinks it's nothing major. Roofer should call next week to take a look.

Aside from a little saddness and a little loneliness, I'm coping pretty well. Just keeping up with Owen keeps me pretty busy, so I don't have much time to feel sorry for myself.

I've desided to look for a roomate instead of a second job. It should bring more income, and leave me more time for Owen and school. I'm hoping for a young woman about my age with a Boston Terrier :D . That way Owen would get a playmate and the dog would be small enough to fit in the house   !

Thank you all for the support. I'm really thankful for all the kind words.

Tina...((((HUGS)))) to you! I know how you feel actually. I have been single for a little over a month, and even though my ex had issues, I miss him and still love him. I am reminded daily of him as he has left many memories all over our home...one being our daughter! :( Just keep doing what you're doing and stay busy! I think a roommate would be an excellent idea firstly so you don't burn yourself out and most importantly, so you have time for yourself and Owen! :) Good luck to you!
