Benefits of Snow trails

I just have to tell you this.
Since we had all of this snow,(20 in.) we had to make trails for the dogs to walk down to do their buisness. Meanwhile, we always have to walk Ruby on a leash because our yard isn't fenced in and she likes to just run off. But with these trails, the dogs won't or can't get off of the trail. So now, we can just let the dogs outside w/o the leash and they can do thier buisness and not run away. They run right back to the house.
We're thinking that this might help Ruby to learn to go outside by herself. But I don't know...we'll just have to wait and see.

Titan does the same thing as Ruby. He always has to be on a leash- b/c when we let him off of it he runs off. We too have a lot of snow (22.3") and since the drifts are taller than him I"ve been letting him loose and he comes back too. But I think once all the snow is gone he'll be back to his old self running to his sister's house. But for now,he's able to play in it b/c he doesn't like going thru the big snow drifts.
