Boxer Insane
I don't get on here as much as I used to, but for those of you who may remember us, I'm here to say that Bella got her wings on Saturday. She has been battling degenerative myelopathy for the last couple of years and was completely down in the back. She was getting sores on her feet from scraping the ground when we took her outside in the sling so I was putting baby socks on her. One day we came home and the socks were off and gone, she had swallowed them and the ace bandages that were holding them on. After a week and a half she threw up one of them but would not stop vomiting. She under went obstruction surgery on Monday and was getting better and our Thursday we had made plans to bring her home over the week-end. Unfortunately she had a set back on Friday and we had to open her up again. I think she was just too weak to survive 2 surgeries that close together and she left us on Saturday night before we could get to the clinic. She passed with her head in the vet tech's lap so I'm glad she wasn't completely alone.
She gave us 10 wonderful years and no doubt would have given us many more if it wasn't for this damn disease. The house just isn't the same without her and we miss her terribly. Hold your babies tightly, they leave us far too soon.
