I always kiss Eve and tell her I love her and I'll be back soon. But still every time I leave it hurts my heart a little while she sits there are stares as I go out the door. I wish I could take her everywhere with me!!

I always tell them "You be good puppies, momma will be back soon". Bailey gets to go in the crate and Roxy runs to the trashcan to eat Q-tips (its a little obsession of hers)

I leave and I wave to him as I pull out of the drive.

I read that and I thought that it said "I leave and he waves to me as I pull out of the drive." I was about to fall out of my seat! (I was in a hurry when I read that.) I just imagined that in my head and I had to re-read it. Just my mind playing tricks on me...

I tell Brutus to go to his crate then i give him a couple treats. Then right before i leave i tell him to be a good boy until mommy gets home. He hasn't got that this month because either myself or my GF is home because of my rotating shift. I'm curious to see how he'll react next month when we will be gone at the same time.

Either my wife or myself tell Duke and his new brother Fred to be good boys and don't break anything. As soon as we walk out the front door we turn and look in the office window, that has the blinds pulled up a little for them to look out, and there they both sit watching us. The minute we pull up to the house they are both sitting at the front door waiting just as we had left them. We know when something went wrong when one or both are not at the front door waiting.

I give Henry a treat, hold his smooshy face in my hands and say "I have to go to work to earn pennies to buy the bones, mommy loves you and I won't be long - love you millions"
I say the same thing everytime I go out whether it's to work for 4 hours or to the store for 30 mins.
Henry rushes to the sofa in the front of the house and watches as I pull out of the drive.
When I come home I have tried not to make a big deal of leaving or coming back so for a while I would walk past him and jusy say "hello sweatheart" very calmly.
Now when I come home he just stretches himself off the sofa like he's been asleep for hours and goes and gets me a pressie (toy or bone or shoe, whatever is closest to him). It's so cute!

I always tell my mine:
"See each other when I get home."
"Don't get into anything, don't tear anything up, and no fighting (Sammy can be a mean girl).
Then I hold each of their heads in my hands and look them in the eye and tell them I love them and kiss them good-bye.
By the time I'm walking out the door they are usually all snug on the couch watching TV.

Its always..."bye baby! i love you and i'll be back just as soon as i can!!!!" of course there are the kisses and hugs too!!! it just breaks my heart to when he looks at me with those soulful eyes of his and begs me not to go.

when i get home, i always say "hey buddy!!! how was your nap??? ready to go potty??"

sometimes i switch it up though!!

Believe me I sure wish I could take Samantha everywhere too. Those sad eyes walking out the door is the worst!
