We have tried several in her short time with us. Dancer unfortunately ate or attempted to eat all of them. The one she didn't eat for a few days was a very large square pillow style with a dent in the middle. She actually slept in that for three days. Now she has taken possession of a full size bed along with her buddy a small pom. They generously allow me to sleep on the edge of the mattress most nights. Good luck in your search.

I bought a bolster bed after Jan posted how much her dogs like them....we now have our couch back. :)

Of course, the bed takes up 1/4 of the living room, but Johann can sleep in comfort.

My dogs like to sleep together so it has to be big. They loved their Snuggle ball. The exterior held up but the interior liner wore thin. Rather than attempt to fix it we bought a new bed. We could not find a slumber ball as big as the one we had. So I bought a wonderfully large and supportive bolster bed from Orvis. It is in the photo. They love it.
They actually leave the couch mid day to go lay in the bedroom on their bed. Unless they can figure out how to get past the obstacles and onto our bed. We cant leave our female on our bed unattended because she can get herself up but not off so she panics. I came home to this one day. She sounded like she was caught in a bear trap. it was terrifying because initially I did not know why she was screaming. When I got there I had mixed feelings. I felt bad for her because she was traumatized but I was laughing too because she could not get off the bed. She is a Boxer. They can leap over fences in a single bound but mine never realized this. It has been a blessing in disguise. We can also put them in a baby gate/pen and they cannot figure out how to get out.

My dogs have the choice between crib mattress that I shoved into a XL dog bed that I bought online once - it fits and has nice bolsters around 3 sides. They also have 2 orthopaedic beds laying around the house, another PETCO bed, the couch, and now they got coolaroo cots for outside since the weather is getting nicer and ya'll pointed out how much they work! They love all of their beds and are spoiled rotten.

Even with all of these....where do they prefer to sleep? Rocky jumps in bed with us EVERY night.....and Dharma - well - if she COULD jump up she would...instead she sleeps on the couch then comes into our room in the middle of the night whining like a baby and barking until we get out of bed and pick her up and let her snuggle too.

I wouldn't have it any other way....but DH is NOT a fan of sharing a queen size bed with his wife and 130# of boxers. LOL

For the crates, we go to Ikea and get their cheapy blankets and put about 4 of them, folded in half, in their crates. Our female is getting a little incontinent now so they're easy to throw in the wash if she happens to leak. They do get a little dog-y smelling but nothing that a good, hot wash can't fix!
