We started with Hurricane the night we brought him home (12 weeks old) and have bathed him every 2-3 weeks since. Good thing is since we stared early he doesn't mind baths.... I know some boxer babies hate them  He doesn't have any trouble with dry skin either, we use puppy shampoo on him.

Thanks for all your advice..Lulu got her first bath today..She was outside and got into a very muddy area..I lured her into the bathtub with treats. she was definitely not thrilled. I had a hard time because I have a cast on my leg right now, she was fighting to get out, but we managed..I was just as wet as she was when it was all done. Hopefully it will go easier next time..Some of you use the shower, did you wait till they were bigger?

Alot of dogs don't like the slick surface of the tub so using a towel in the bottom of the tub, or one of those gripper mats for under rugs helps them feel more comfortable. Also, long nails will make a dog slip more in the tub, so make sure you keep their nails trimmed nice. A handheld shower attachment definitely makes bathing easier.

I taught both my dogs to shake on cue which really helps with drying off. Now I just tell them to "shake" a bunch of times while they are still in the shower. Of course they always give one good one when they come out so I still end up having to wipe down the bathroom walls!
